Procedure Words
Procedure words (abbreviated to prowords) are words or phrases limited to radio telephone procedure used to facilitate communication by conveying information in a condensed standard verbal format. Prowords are voice versions of the much older procedural signs for Morse code which were first developed in the 1860s for Morse telegraphy, and their meaning is identical. The NATO communications manual ACP-125 contains the most formal and perhaps earliest modern (post-World War II) glossary of prowords, but its definitions have been adopted by many other organizations, including the United Nations Development Programme, the U.S. Coast Guard, US Civil Air Patrol, US Military Auxiliary Radio System, and others. Prowords are one of several structured parts of radio voice procedures, including brevity codes and plain language radio checks. Examples According to the U.S. Marine Corps training document FMSO 108, "understanding the following PROWORDS and their respective definitions is t ...

Over And Out (Tar Album)
''Over and Out'' is the fourth and final studio album by American post-hardcore band Tar, released in 1995 through Touch and Go Records. Two outtakes from the album were released by fanzine ''Chunklet'' in 2012. Critical reception '' MusicHound Rock: The Essential Album Guide'' praised the album's "stripped down" sound and "new, menacing darkness." The ''Chicago Reader'' wrote that "Mark Zablocki and front man John Mohr lock their lean, meaty guitars together into unfussy dual riffs, simultaneously neat and jagged, that add an extra jolt of momentum to the precise, bulldozer-simple pounding of drummer Mike Greenlees." ''Trouser Press'' called the album Tar's "best and most varied," writing that "the emotional centerpiece is the tumultuous 'Building Taj Mahal', which ruminates on a band’s last stand: 'I am familiar with the concept of filler,' sings Mohr, but adds, 'This one is special.'" Track listing Personnel Performers *John Mohr - vocals, electric guitar *Mark Zablocki ...

In Your Honor
''In Your Honor'' is the fifth studio album by American rock band Foo Fighters, released on June 14, 2005, through Roswell and RCA Records. It is a double album, with the first disc containing heavy rock songs and the second containing mellower acoustic songs. Frontman Dave Grohl decided to do a diverse blend of songs, as he felt that after ten years of existence, the band had to break new ground with their music. The album was recorded at a newly built studio in Northridge, Los Angeles, and features guests such as John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Norah Jones, and Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age). Its lyrics deal with both resonating and introspective themes, with a major influence from Grohl's involvement on the campaign trail with John Kerry during the 2004 presidential election. It was the first album to feature keyboardist Rami Jaffee, although he would not join the band as full-time member until 2017. The promotional tour for the album included both rock shows in stad ...

Mourning Widows
Mourning Widows was a musical project led by former Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt. The band was formed in 1997, and they released two albums during their career. Despite not being widely released in the United States, both albums were successful in Japan. Bettencourt formed the band after the moderate success of his 1996 solo album, '' Schizophonic''. The band's sound went back to a funkier guitar-driven rock reminiscent of Extreme, while still having post-grunge and alternative influences. After the end of the Furnished Souls For Rent tour, in 2001, Nuno decided to dismiss the band and released a record as Population 1, mostly recorded by himself. That became the name of his new band too, which would later become DramaGods. Discography * ''Mourning Widows'' (1998) * '' Furnished Souls for Rent'' (2000) Band members * Nuno Bettencourt - guitars, vocals, producer, drums on first record (credited as "Billy Vegas") * Donovan Bettencourt - bass * Jeff Consi - drums from the ...
