''Out of Season'' is a studio album by vocalist Beth Gibbons (of Portishead) and bassist Paul Webb (under the pseudonym Rustin Man, formerly of Talk Talk). It was released on 28 October 2002 in the United Kingdom and on 7 October 2003 in the United States. ''Out of Season'' is largely a folk album with jazz leanings, with Gibbons and Webb drawing more directly on the influences of Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, and Nick Drake, at which Portishead's work in trip hop only hinted. ''Out of Season'' also features contributions from Gibbons' fellow Portishead bandmate Adrian Utley and Webb's former bandmate Lee Harris. The first track of the album, "Mysteries", appears on the original soundtrack of the French movie '' Les Poupées Russes'' (''The Russian Dolls''), and in Wim Wenders' ''Palermo Shooting'' from 2008. ''Out of Season'' is a 1975 British drama film directed by Alan Bridges, and starring Vanessa Redgrave, Susan George, and Cliff Robertson. It was produced by Lorimar Productions and entered into the 25th Berlin International Film Festival. ''Out of Season'' was filmed at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, and on location in Dorset, primarily at the Isle of Portland. The sets were designed by the art director Robert Jones. The film was originally titled ''Winter Rates'' and was announced by ''Daily Variety'' in 1974 to be starring Redgrave and Oliver Reed. It had an expected budget of approximately $500,000. Plot Joe Turner (Cliff Robertson) returns to Great Britain twenty years after he ended a romantic relationship with Ann (Vanessa Redgrave). Jevon O'Neill, from Blackpool, England, is an English writer, director and producer of feature films and television advertisements. Career In 1983, O'Neill completed courses in drama and film at the University of Manchester. After college, he directed and produced TV commercials for a variety of companies, including United Biscuits, Pearl Assurance, British Gas, Nike, ''The Sunday Times'', and others. O'Neill's first film, ''Bob's Weekend'', was distributed by Paramount and shown on BBC1. His second film, ''Out of Season'' starring Dennis Hopper and Gina Gershon, filmed in Romania. It screened at The Hollywood Film Festival in 2004 and was selected to show at the festival alongside potential blockbusters. "Out of Season" is a short story written by Ernest Hemingway, first published in 1923 in Paris in the privately printed book, ''Three Stories and Ten Poems''. It was included in his next collection of stories, ''In Our Time'', published in New York in 1925 by Boni & Liveright.
