Otis Air Force Base Hospital
The 551st United States Air Force Hospital was a hospital at Otis Air Force Base. With the closure of the base in 1973, the hospital closed. It was the site of the birth of Patrick Bouvier Kennedy.America's Royalty: All the Presidents' Children, by Sandra L. Quinn-Musgrove, Sanford Kanterand, 1995. The hospital consisted of a series of connected one-story buildings. The buildings were torn down in the early 1970s. Patrick Bouvier Kennedy
Patrick Bouvier Kennedy (August 7–9, 1963) was the infant child of President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy and the younger brother of Caroline, John Jr., and Arabella. Born prematurely, Kennedy lived just over 39 hours before dying from complications of hyaline membrane disease (HMD), after desperate attempts to save him failed. His infant death left the First Family and nation in mourning. However, it also brought HMD, now known as infantile respiratory distress syndrome, into the public consciousness, inspiring further research. Bourne ( ) is a town in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 20,452 at the 2020 census.
