Otago University AFC
Otago University AFC is a semi-professional association football club in Dunedin, New Zealand. The Men's First team competes in the Southern Premier League and has previously competed in the Southern League. The Women's First Team competes in the Women's South Island League. The club is affiliated with the Otago University Students' Association, and not directly affiliated to the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand; it is one of the oldest clubs associated with the University of Otago, established in 1939. They are based at Logan Park in an area immediately beside the university campus, and play their home fixtures at the nearby Caledonian Ground. The men's first team also participates in the Chatham Cup, New Zealand's premier knockout tournament. The Women's First team competes in the Kate Sheppard Cup. Logan Park, Dunedin
Logan Park is a sporting venue in the city of Dunedin, New Zealand. It lies on land reclaimed from the former Lake Logan. Features The park contains both Football and rugby grass and artificial pitches, known as both Dunedin Artificial Turf and Logan Park Turf, two artificial hockey turfs, bowling green, and tennis courts, and part of the park is now occupied by two stadia, the University Oval stadium, home of the University of Otago Rugby Football Club and Otago Cricket, and the Caledonian Ground, which is an athletics venue and also the city's main soccer venue. The Chatham Cup is New Zealand's premier knockout tournament in men's association football. It is held annually, with the final contested in September. The current champions of the Chatham Cup are 2022 winners Auckland City, who defeated Eastern Suburbs 1–0 in the final. History The Chatham Cup is contested by teams from throughout New Zealand, and has been held annually since 1923 with the exception of 1937 and 1941–44. Typically between 120 and 150 teams take part, with extra time and penalty shoot-outs used to decide matches which end in ties. North Shore United Association Football Club is an amateur football club based in the North Shore, Auckland. They compete in the Northern League, where they last won the competition in 2019. The 2021 Chatham Cup is New Zealand's 93rd annual knockout football competition. The competition returns for 2021 after being cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19. It will have a preliminary round and four rounds proper before quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final. Results Preliminary round Matches were played over the Anzac weekend of 23–26 April. The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. Dunedin Technical (known locally as Tech) is a semi-professional association football club in Dunedin, New Zealand. They compete in the ODT FootballSouth Premier League and were the 2018 ODT FootballSouth Premier League champions. Club history The club was founded as King Edward Technical College Old Boys in 1920, and changed their name to Dunedin Technical in 1980. They and are based at Culling Park, in the suburb of Saint Kilda. The 2014 Chatham Cup was New Zealand's 87th annual knockout football competition. The 2014 competition had five rounds proper before quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final. The final, played on 7 September 2014, was won by Christchurch club Cashmere Technical, who beat Central United 2–1 for their second trophy in two years, the first club to go back to back since 1998. The Jack Batty Memorial Cup for man of the final was won by Cashmere Technical's Stu Kelly. New Zealand Football Championship
The New Zealand Football Championship ( mi, Te Whakataetae Whutupaoro a Aotearoa) was a men's association football league at the top of the New Zealand league system. Founded in 2004, the New Zealand Football Championship was the successor to a myriad of short-lived football leagues in the country, including the National Soccer League, the National Summer Soccer League and the New Zealand Superclub League. The league was contested by ten teams in a franchise system. For sponsorship reasons, the competition was known as the ISPS Handa Men's Premiership. From the 2021-22 season, it was replaced by the New Zealand National League. Southern United, previously known as Otago United, is a semi-professional football club based in Dunedin, New Zealand. Founded in 2004, they play their home games at the Logan Park and Forsyth Barr Stadium. It is the southernmost football club playing in a top division league in the world. The Kate Sheppard Cup, currently known as the New Zealand Football Foundation Kate Sheppard Cup for sponsorship purposes, is New Zealand's premier knockout tournament in women's association football. Founded in 1994, it was known as the Women's Knockout Cup, until it was renamed in 2018. What would have been the 2020 edition of the competition, was cancelled because of COVID-19 but the competition continued again in 2021. Format The Kate Sheppard Cup is a national club based competition, women's teams from all clubs that are members of their regional association affiliated to New Zealand Football are allowed to enter and is competed for during the winter club season. Caledonian Ground
The Caledonian Ground, often simply known as "The Caley", is a major sports venue in the New Zealand city of Dunedin. It is primarily used for football (soccer) and athletics, and has a capacity of 7,500. Location The Caledonian Ground is currently sited at the northern end of Logan Park in Dunedin North, close to Logan Park High School and close to the University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic.
