Oswego Township, Kendall County, Illinois
Oswego Township occupies the 6-mile-square-plus additional land to the south of the Fox River in northeast corner of Kendall County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 50,870 and it contained 17,914 housing units. Geography According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of , of which (or 98.42%) is land and (or 1.58%) is water. U.S. Route 30 and U.S. Route 34 run east to west through the township. IL 25, IL 31 and IL 71 also run through the township. Today, the township has become predominantly a suburb of Chicago. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area on the Fox River, south of Aurora. Geography Boulder Hill is located at (41.7113530, -88.3351400). According to the United States Census Bureau, Boulder Hill has a total area of , of which or 99% of its land and or 1% of its water. Up until the early 2000s, the Boulder Hill subdivision had a small development area, equating to almost a town square. The community itself has a strong identity, as the people from Boulder Hill are not classified as being from Montgomery or Oswego, two nearby larger towns. Plainfield is a village in Will and Kendall counties, Illinois, United States. The population was 44,762 at the 2020 census. The village includes land in Will County's Plainfield and Wheatland townships, as well as Na-Au-Say and Oswego townships in Kendall County. With the growth in the Chicago suburbs in the 1990s and 2000s, the village has seen a population increase, from 4,500 in 1990 to 28,000 in 2000 to nearly 45,000 in 2016. Oswego is a village in Kendall and Will Counties, Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 34,485. Oswego is the largest municipality in Kendall County. It is a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. History In 1833, William Smith Wilson, his wife Rebecca, and his brother-in-law Daniel Pearce moved to the area now known as Oswego. The land belonged to the local Potawatomi, Ottawa, and Chippewa tribes, but the United States government removed the Native Americans when the government started surveying the land along the Fox River in Kendall County. In 1842, the federal government placed the land for sale at an established price of $1.25 an acre. After the sale of the land, Lewis Brinsmaid Judson and Levi F.
