Osmany Juantorena
Osmany Juantorena Portuondo (born 12 August 1985) is a Cuban-born Italian volleyball player, a member of Cuba national volleyball team in 2003–2006 and current member of Italy national volleyball team and Chinese club Shanghai Golden Age. Juantorena was bronze medalist of the 2005 World League and silver medalist 2016 Summer Olympics. He is a multiple winner of the CEV Champions League and FIVB Club World Championship with the Italian club Trentino Volley. Juantorena is the record owner of the highest number of Most Valuable Player awards at FIVB Club World Championship, with 4 times. Personal life Juantorena was born in Santiago de Cuba. He is a nephew of Alberto Juantorena, a Cuban former track runner and politician. The men's tournament in volleyball at the 2016 Summer Olympics was the 14th edition of the event at the Summer Olympics, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB, in conjunction with the IOC. It was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 7 to 21 August 2016. Brazil won the gold medal after a 3–0 win over Italy. The United States defeated Russia 3–2 to win the bronze medal. Alberto Juantorena
Alberto Juantorena (born 3 December 1950) is a Cuban former runner. He is the only athlete to win both the 400 and 800 m Olympic titles, which he achieved in 1976. He was ranked as world's best runner in the 400 m in 1974 and 1976–1978, and in the 800 m in 1976–77, and was chosen as the ''Track & Field News'' Athlete of the Year in 1976 and 1977. FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship
The FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship is an international men's club volleyball competition organised by the '' Fédération Internationale de Volleyball'' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The competition was first contested in 1989 in Italy. It was not held between 1993 and 2008, but since 2009, the competition has been held every year, and has been hosted by Qatar and Brazil except in 2017 and 2018 where both hosted by Poland. The CEV Champions League is the top official competition for men's volleyball clubs from the whole of Europe. The competition is organised every year by the European Volleyball Confederation. The 2015 Men's European Volleyball Championship was the 29th edition of the Men's European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the CEV.
