Oshizamurai Kiichihōgan
also known as The Mute Samurai is a Japanese television ''jidaigeki'' or period drama, that was broadcast in 1973–1974. The lead star is Tomisaburo Wakayama, his younger brother Shintaro Katsu also appeared and directed episode 1. It is based on Kanda Takeshi's manga ''Oshizamurai Kiichihōgan''. Plot Kiichihōgan is a samurai who had been a victim of a vicious crime, completely changing his life forever. His parents were killed and his virgin wife was violated by a skilled Spaniard named Gonzalez. 18 years later Kiichihōgan abandons the way of the samurai and he becomes a bounty hunter, taking Japans most wanted criminals. He goes on a journey to find the Spaniard and fulfill his revenge. Jidaigeki
is a genre of film, television, video game, and theatre in Japan. Literally meaning "period dramas", they are most often set during the Edo period of Japanese history, from 1603 to 1868. Some, however, are set much earlier—''Portrait of Hell'', for example, is set during the late Heian period—and the early Meiji era is also a popular setting. ''Jidaigeki'' show the lives of the samurai, farmers, craftsmen, and merchants of their time. Kiwako Taichi
was a Japanese film actress. She appeared in 20 films between 1967 and 1985. Biography Kiwako Taichi was born in Tokyo on 2 December 1943. She graduated Shoin Junior and Senior High School and, after training in the Haiyuza Theatre Company, she joined Bungakuza in 1967. Appearing in such plays as ' and ', she was hailed as a potential successor to Haruko Sugimura. In 1970, she married actor Taisaku Akino but divorced. She died in a car accident in Ito, Shizuoka on 13 October 1992 while working there with Bungakuza. Buichi Saitō
was a Japanese film director from Saitama Prefecture. His representative works included '' Wataridori series'' starring Akira Kobayashi, ''Farewell to Southern Tosa''(1959) and ''Gazing at Love and Death''(1964). Saitō often worked with Akira Kobayashi, Joe Shishido and Sayuri Yoshinaga. Rokkō Toura
was a Japanese stage and film actor active from 1960 to 1993.「個性光る、名脇役」 Asahi Shimbun読売新聞1993 March 26 朝刊31面 He is mostly associated with the films of director Nagisa Ōshima. Biography Toura was born Mutsuhiro Toura in Osaka, Japan. A graduate of Kyoto University, he worked as an English teacher at a private high school before becoming an actor at the Shochiku studios at Ōshima's recommendation. He left Shochiku together with Ōshima the following year and became a freelance actor who often worked with Ōshima, but also repeatedly with director Kaneto Shindō. Toura died of polyarteritis nodosa in 1993 at the age of 62. Mikio Narita
was a Japanese actor. He was most famous for playing villains. He often worked with Kinji Fukasaku. Narita graduated from Haiyuza Theatre Company acting school and joined Daiei Film. His career as a screen actor started in 1963. His film debut was the 1963 film ''Kōkō Sannensei''. He gradually won fame by playing the role of the villains. In 1971, Narita left Daiei and became a freelance actor. AS a freelance actor he appeared in many yakuza films produced by Toei film company.
