Oscar AventÃn
Oscar Raúl ''El Puma'' AventÃn (born December 26, 1946, in Morón) is a retired race car driver from Argentina. He competed in the Turismo Carretera (TC) series together with his brother Antonio. After taking part in some zonal races, AventÃn started racing in Turismo Carretera in 1977, first with his brother Antonio (''Tony''), who was TC Champion 1980–1981 at the wheel of a Dodge. Oscar was triple vice-champion from 1979 to 1982 and won eight races. As of 1983, he switched to a Ford, although he made brief comebacks in his Dodge until 1988. He clinched the 1991 and 1992 Championships at the wheel of a Ford Falcon. He announced his retirement in 1993, but returned from 1994 onwards driving for Dodge and then for Chevrolet. He officially retired from car racing in 1997 and became president of the ACTC board, over which he presided from 2002 to 2013. Morón () is a city in the Argentine province of Buenos Aires, capital of the Morón ''partido'', located in the Greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area, at . Juan Gálvez (Buenos Aires, 14 February 1916 – 3 March 1963 in OlavarrÃa) was an Argentine Auto racing, racing driver, and the brother of driver Oscar Alfredo Gálvez. Life and career Juan and his brother started racing together in Turismo Carretera but then took separate ways and competed in different cars. He made his debut in the Avellaneda Automobile Club 1000-Mile race on 14 February 1941 and finished second to Juan Manuel Fangio. His first win came on 22 February 1949 at the I Vuelta de Santa Fe Province, Santa Fe. He won the Turismo Carretera championship nine times, in 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958 and 1961. His last victory was at the IV Vuelta de Laboulaye, Córdoba, Laboulaye (1962) behind the wheel of a Ford Motor Company, Ford. Death He was killed during an accident at OlavarrÃa race in 1963. Oscar or Oskar is a masculine given name of Irish origin. Etymology The name is derived from two elements in Irish: the first, ''os'', means "deer"; the second element, ''car'', means "loving" or "friend", thus "deer-loving one" or "friend of deer".
