Pilgrims Choice is a cheese brand owned by Irish dairy exporter Ornua (formerly Adams Foods Ltd and the North Downs Dairy), with UK operations based in Leek, Staffordshire. Despite an Identification Code of UK LK002, Pilgrims Choice is substantially sourced from Irish-produced cheese. The company packs include Mature Cheddar, Mature Lighter and Extra Mature Cheddar. History Pilgrims Choice was founded by David Hardisty, the founder of North Downs Dairy, in 1985, and was bought by the Irish Dairy Board in 1997. The company's brand name comes from the route known as Pilgrims' Way, which Hardisty drove down daily on his way to Wincanton. Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur is an Irish cream, Irish whiskey, and chocolate based liqueur produced in Ireland by Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur Limited. It was first introduced in the US in 2014 and the trademark is owned by Kerrygold under Ornua, previously known as the Irish Dairy Board. It has a declared alcohol content of 17% alcohol by volume. Infinium Spirits is the exclusive U.S. importer of Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur. History In the early 2010s, the Irish Dairy Board approached the design agency Dynamo to develop and promote a cream liquor using their products. The product was intended to capitalize on Kerrygold's brand as a dairy producer and to compete with the popular Bailey's Irish Cream. The co-operative has its roots in a series of amalgamations of small rural co-operative creamery societies throughout County Kilkenny, most notably the amalgamation of Avonmore Creameries Federation in 1966. Since the spin off of the dairy processing business to Glanbia plc and Glanbia Ireland, the primary activities of the co-operative have been managing the co-operatives investments in these entities for the benefit of its farmer-members. Winter Hill (North West England)
Winter Hill is a hill on the border of the boroughs of Chorley, Blackburn with Darwen and Bolton, in the historic county of Lancashire in North West England. It is located on Rivington Moor, Chorley and is high. Part of the West Pennine Moors, it is a popular walking area, and has been the site of mining activity, aeroplane disasters and murders. Its prominent position made it the ideal site for the Winter Hill TV Mast, transmitting to a large part of North West England. There is also a number of other telecommunication masts and towers around the summit and side of the hill for mobile phones, Professional Mobile Radio users and emergency services.
