Orlando Maglev
A proposed US$400 million magnetic levitation train system would have connected the Orlando International Airport and the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, with a stop at the Florida Mall. The privately funded train line would be built by American Maglev Technology and was once expected to be operational by 2017. If completed, the train would have been the first commercial maglev system in North America. Maglev (derived from '' magnetic levitation''), is a system of train transportation that uses two sets of electromagnets: one set to repel and push the train up off the track, and another set to move the elevated train ahead, taking advantage of the lack of friction. Orange County Convention Center
The Orange County Convention Center is a convention center located in Orlando, Florida. Opened in 1983 as the Orange County Convention and Civic Center, it is the primary public convention center for the Central Florida region and the second-largest convention center in the United States, after McCormick Place in Chicago.
