The Original Spanish Kitchen was a restaurant on Beverly Boulevard in the Fairfax District (Los Angeles, California), Fairfax District of Los Angeles, California, US, that became the subject of an urban legend starting in the early 1960s. The restaurant, which opened in 1938, was a popular eating spot until it closed in September 1961. The El Cholo Spanish Cafe is a Los Angeles restaurant serving Mexican food. Founded in 1923, the restaurant is credited with the introduction of the burrito to the United States in the 1930s. The restaurant has expanded to a chain with six locations in Southern California. It celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023. History In 1923, Alejandro and Rosa Borquez opened the Sonora Cafe at Santa Barbara Avenue and Moneta Avenue in Exposition Park, near where the Coliseum now stands. "Cruisin'", also known as "Lucy and Ramona and Sunset Sam", is the last single to be released by Michael Nesmith as a solo artist. The song was released in 1979 under Pacific Arts (PAC 108) from the album ''Infinite Rider on the Big Dogma''. The B-side of the single was "Carioca". "Cruisin'" tells the story of three individuals who live on the streets of Los Angeles, California and are related by their lifestyle. Background A promotional video was made for ''Cruisin and was released on Nesmith's ''Elephant Parts''. Contrary to popular belief, the video did not debut Hulk Hogan, but rather, featured wrestler Steve Strong who resembles a young Hulk Hogan. Michael Nesmith
Robert Michael Nesmith or Mike Nesmith, (December 30, 1942 – December 10, 2021) was an American musician, songwriter, and actor. He was best known as a member of the pop rock band the Monkees and co-star of the TV series ''The Monkees'' (1966–1968). His songwriting credits include "Different Drum," which became a hit for Linda Ronstadt and the Stone Poneys. After the break-up of the Monkees, Nesmith continued his successful songwriting and performing career, first with the seminal country rock group the First National Band, with whom he had a top-40 hit, " Joanne", and then as a solo artist. Parkinson's Disease
Parkinson's disease (PD), or simply Parkinson's, is a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system. The symptoms usually emerge slowly, and as the disease worsens, non-motor symptoms become more common.
