Original Sin (comics)
"Original Sin" is a 2014 comic book storyline published by Marvel Comics. The story features Nick Fury and the Avengers investigating the murder of Uatu the Watcher, only to suffer trauma from what they see in his eyes. They also come into conflict with a group of misled self-appointed investigators led by Black Panther and Punisher. Publication history Writer Jason Aaron and Mike Deodato conceived the "Original Sin" storyline as one in which different heroes worked together in different investigations to find out who murdered Uatu the Watcher. Main plot Sam Alexander, while training with Uatu the Watcher at his moon base, stumbles across Uatu's weapons storage. Sam asks about it and Uatu tells him the origin story of the Watchers. Uatu
Uatu (), often simply known as the Watcher, is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, he first appeared in ''The Fantastic Four'' #13 (April 1963). He is a member of the Watchers, an extraterrestrial species who in the distant past stationed themselves across space to monitor the activities of other species. Uatu is the Watcher assigned to observe Earth and its Solar System. The character has been adapted into other media, such as video games, toys, and television. Jeffrey Wright voices the Watcher, a character based on Uatu, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe animated series '' What If..?'' (2021–present) on Disney+. Jason Aaron (born January 28, 1973) is an Americans, American comic book writer, known for his creator-owned series ''Scalped (comics), Scalped'' and ''Southern Bastards'', as well as his work on Marvel Comics, Marvel series ''Ghost Rider (comic book), Ghost Rider'', ''Wolverine: Weapon X, Wolverine'', ''PunisherMAX'', ''Thor (Marvel Comics), Thor'', and ''Avengers (comic book), The Avengers''. Early life Jason Aaron was born in Jasper, Alabama. His cousin, Gustav Hasford, who wrote the semi-autobiographical novel ''The Short-Timers'' (1979), on which the feature film ''Full Metal Jacket'' (1987) was based, was a large influence on Aaron.
