''Origin of the Alimonies'' is the fifth studio album by American rock band Liturgy. It was released on November 20, 2020, via bandleader Haela Hunt-Hendrix's record label, YLYLCYN. Performance The album was performed by the band at the Roadburn Festival on 23 April 2022 in Tilburg. The band, consisting of guitarist Mario Miron, bassist Tia Vincent-Clark and Leo Didkovsky on drums alongside Hunt-Hendrix, was accompanied by a classical orchestra. For this occasion a concomitant film was made by Haela Hunt-Hendrix. Liturgy (band)
Liturgy is an American black metal band from Brooklyn, New York. The band features Haela Hunt-Hendrix (vocals, guitar), Mario Miron (guitar), Tia Vincent-Clark (bass) and Leo Didkovsky (drums). The band have described their music as "transcendental black metal," which was especially described in a manifesto written by Hunt-Hendrix; in the process of transforming their style of black metal, they have experimented with other genres including progressive rock, hip hop and electronic music. In the band's early days, Hunt-Hendrix expressed her interest in the work of Swans, Glenn Branca, Rhys Chatham, La Monte Young and Lightning Bolt as influences. Haela Ravenna Hunt-Hendrix (born January 25, 1985) is an American musician and composer. She is best known for her work as creator, lead singer, and guitarist of black metal band Liturgy. Personal life Hunt-Hendrix was born in 1985 in New York City, the child of academician Helen LaKelly Hunt and self-help author Harville Hendrix. Roadburn Festival
Roadburn Festival is an international music festival held in Tilburg, Netherlands every April since 1999. It was set up as a spin-off from the Roadburn music blog founded by Jurgen van den Brand and Walter Hoeijmakers. Originally focused on stoner rock, Roadburn grew into a major event spanning the entire spectrum of heavy rock and experimental music. The key staff involved with running the festival are Frens Frijns (managing director, CEO of Tilburg's 013 venue), Walter Hoeijmakers (promoter, artistic director) and Becky Laverty (press, communication, side programme). Olivier Eugène Prosper Charles Messiaen (, ; ; 10 December 1908 – 27 April 1992) was a French composer, organist, and ornithologist who was one of the major composers of the 20th century.
