Mine Rescue Decoration
The Mine Rescue Decoration (German: Grubenwehrehrenzeichen) is a state award of the Republic of Austria, established on February 24, 1954 by the National Council. The award is presented by the Federal Ministry of Trade and Reconstruction, currently known as the Ministry of Digital and Economic Affairs, to both members and non-members of the mine rescue services. Criteria The Mine Rescue Decoration can be awarded for the following reasons: *to members of a mine rescue service who made a special contribution to a rescue operation resulting in loss of their life. *to members of a mine rescue service who have provided satisfactory service for a period of at least 15 years. *to former members of a mine rescue service who were unable to complete 15 years of satisfactory service due to work-related illness or injury. *to any individual who, while under supervision of the mountain authorities, rescues or assists in rescuing an individual at the cost of, or at great risk to, their own lif ... Militia Medal
The Militia Medal (german: Milizmedaille) is a military medal of Austria awarded to members of the militia in recognition of services rendered in militia activities. It can only be awarded once. Criteria The Militia Medal is awarded to members of the militia who have completed 30 days of voluntary militia service. It may also be awarded to those members of the militia at the termination of their militia commitment. The Militia Medal is worn after the Bronze Military Service Medal, but before the awards of the States of Austria Appearance The Militia Medal is a circular bronze medal with a patinaed finish. Military Service Medal
The Military Service Medal german: Wehrdienstmedaille is a military medal awarded to members of the Military of Austria. It is awarded in three classes: gold, silver, and bronze depending on length of recognized service. Established in 1963, the medal was originally called the Military Commemorative Service Medal (''Wehrdiensterinnerungsmedaille''). The name was changed to its current name in 1989. Criteria The Military Service Medal in bronze is the most common award of the medal. It is awarded to conscripts at the end of their mandatory training. The silver medal is awarded to those members of the militia who have already earned the bronze medal and have performed at least 30 days of additional training or other militia duty. The gold medal is awarded to those already holding the silver medal who have performed an additional 60 days of training or other militia duty. The medals are awarded only once. The Law Enforcement Merit Decoration (German: Exekutivdienstzeichen) is a state award of the Republic of Austria, established by federal law on December 1, 1985. Criteria The Law Enforcement Merit Decoration is awarded for 30 years of flawless service as an executive officer or civil servant in one of the law enforcement organisations of Austria. It may also be awarded for outstanding performance and bravery in the face of danger, and outstanding achievements in rescue or relief operations resulting in extreme physical or mental stress. Appearance The decoration consists of a circular silver medal, with a diameter of 40 mm. The Austrian Armed Forces Operations Medal (german: Einsatzmedaille des Österreichischen Bundesheeres) was established in 2001 to recognize operational service by the Military of Austria. The medal is 40 mm wide and round, suspended from a ribbon that varies depending on the type of operation. Appearance The medal is round, in diameter, and made of bronze. On the front of the medal in the center the inscription ''EINSATZ FÜR ÖSTERREICH'' surrounded by an open-topped laurel wreath.
