Order Of The Red Star (Albania)
The Order of the Red Star ( sq, Urdhri "Ylli i Kuq") was an award of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania. It was awarded to officers, non-commissioned officers, pupils and students of military schools, soldiers, and reservists of the Albanian People's Army, as well as police officers, the Voluntary Forces of Popular Self-Defense, and armed school youth. It was awarded for good leadership in time of war and for very good achievements in the war against enemies of the people in peacetime. Many recipients took part in the Liberation of Albania and the founding of the National Liberation Movement. It was established on November 20, 1952. On January 18, 1965, it was divided into three degrees. The People's Socialist Republic of Albania ( sq, Republika Popullore Socialiste e Shqipërisë, links=no) was the Marxist–Leninist one party state that existed in Albania from 1946 to 1992 (the official name of the country was the People's Republic of Albania from 1946 until 1976 and the Republic of Albania from 1991 until its dissolution in 1992). The National Liberation Movement ( sq, Lëvizja Nacional-Çlirimtare; or ''Lëvizja Antifashiste Nacional-Çlirimtare'' (LANÇ)), also translated as National Liberation Front, was an Albanian communist resistance organization that fought in World War II. Enver Halil Hoxha ( , ; 16 October 190811 April 1985) was an Albanian communist politician who was the authoritarian ruler of Albania from 1944 until his death in 1985. He was First Secretary of the Party of Labour of Albania from 1941 until his death in 1985. Alfred Spiro Moisiu (; born 1 December 1929) is a former Albanian military general, diplomat and politician. He was the President of Albania from 2002 to 2007. He is the oldest son of Albanian Army general, Spiro Moisiu. Early life, education and career Moisiu was born into the family of General Spiro Moisiu.
