Head Of The Republic Of Dagestan
The Head of the Republic of Dagestan is the highest official and the head of the executive power of the Republic of Dagestan. The Head is Dagestan’s Head of State and Head of Government. The Head of Dagestan’s duty is to ensure compliance with the Russian Constitution and federal laws and the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Dagestan, as well as the equality of nations and the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, and the preservation of the unity and territorial integrity of the Republic of Dagestan. The Head of the Republic can not be a person aged under 30. The term of office is four years. The position is appointed by the People's Assembly of the Republic of Dagestan. Since 5 October 2020, the position of Head of the Republic of Dagestan has been held by Sergey Melikov.
