Orchids And My Love
''Orchids and My Love'' () is a 1966 Taiwanese film. It won six awards at the 5th Golden Horse Film Festival, including Best Feature Film and Best Director for Lee Chia. The film drew attention for its embodiment of Confucian ethics, in comparison to ''Beautiful Duckling. Plot Young Meng Rou-lan (Tse Ling-ling) loves ballet, but cannot perform as she has polio. She is raised by her father (Ko Hsiang-ting) on an orchid farm. His unconditional love sees Meng through her recovery. Beautiful Duckling
''Beautiful Duckling'' is a 1965 Taiwanese film directed by Li Hsing. It tells the story of a duck man Lin Tsai-tien (Ko Hsiang-ting) and his adopted daughter Hsiao-yue. Hsiao-yue (Tang Pao-yun) knows nothing about her real descent, which Lin has designedly disguised. Her natural brother Chao-fu (Ou Wei) is a Taiwanese opera actor, he keeps asking Lin for money. He brings Hsiao-yue to the theatrical troupe to follow himself, where Hsiao-yue learns about her natural parents. Lin has to sell all his ducks, entrust Hsiao-yue to Chao-fu, and gives him money to let him start his own business. At the end of the film, Lin's son comes back, and Chao-fu repents his behavior and returns the money to Lin. The film is one of the representative works of Healthy Documentary Film in Taiwan, the traditional Chinese ethics. Hsieh Ling-ling (, born on 20 September 1956) is a Taiwanese-born child star and the ex-wife of Hong Kong billionaire Peter Lam. Biography She starred in five movies from 1977 to 1979, later returning to acting under the name Ling Tse. She appears in '' The New Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre'' (1986), as well as the TV show '' Requiem of Ling Sing'' (1989). Ko Hsiang-ting
Ko Hsiang-ting (; 8 August 1916 – 16 May 2010) was a Taiwanese actor. Born in Suzhou, China on 8 August 1916, Ko became a member of the National Revolutionary Army corp of entertainers. He moved to Taiwan after the Chinese Civil War, and started an acting career that spanned over one hundred credits. He was awarded the Golden Horse Award for Best Actor in 1965 and again in 1970. Eight years later, Ko founded the Actor’s Union of the Republic of China. In 2005, he was honored with the Golden Horse Award Lifetime Achievement Award. He died in Taipei on 16 May 2010, aged 93. Tang Pao-yun (; 1944 – 14 May 1999) was a Taiwanese actress. She was born in 1944, and attended an acting school run by the Central Motion Picture Corporation. After ending her studies in 1961, she appeared in her first films the next year. Tang was named best supporting actress at the 1962 Asian Film Festival, and won the same award at the first Golden Horse Film Festival. Tang's role in ''Beautiful Duckling'' (1965) was considered a breakout performance. She would later co-star in other films alongside Ou Wei, namely ''Love is an Elusive Wind'' (1972). Soon after ''Beautiful Duckling'', another film directed by Li Hsing and starring Tang was released, '' Four Loves'' (1965).
