	Orchestre Des Pays De Savoie The Orchestre des Pays de Savoie is a French classical orchestra that was the result of a fruitful collaboration between the Savoie and Haute-Savoie départements. The Orchestra is a permanent Member of the French Orchestra Association (AFO). It was created in 1984 with the support of the Entente régionale de Savoie (now the Assemblée des Pays de Savoie), the Rhône-Alpes Region and the French Ministry of Culture. Musical directors Since 1984 its musical directors have been Patrice Fontanarosa, Tibor Varga, Mark Foster and Graziella Contratto. Under the impetus of its successive conductors it has become one of the most dynamic French orchestras. Nicolas Chalvin took over as musical director in September 2009. 	Renaud Capuçon Renaud Capuçon (born 27 January 1976) is a French classical violinist. Since late 2016 he has been teaching at the Royal Northern College of Music. Biography Capuçon was born in Chambéry on 27 January 1976. He entered the conservatory in his native city at the age of 4, and then the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris (CNSMDP) at the age of 14 where he studied under Gérard Poulet. Three years later he completed his studies there, winning first prize in both chamber music and violin. He then entered several international competitions and joined the European Union Youth Orchestra, and then the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra as first violin under the direction of Claudio Abbado. He played in the French rock band Magma in the 1970s, and was known for his use of electric amplification and his experimentation with different sounds on the electric violin. He started as a student of Raymond Gellier. At the age of 8, he entered the Conservatoire de musique of Aix en Provence in Bertrand Thomas' class. At the age of 14, he obtained the gold medal from the Conservatoire of Aix-en-Provence and became a student of Alexandre Lagoya at the Conservatoire de Paris.
