The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. Knights Ferry is an unincorporated historic community in Stanislaus County, California, United States. Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, it is about east of Modesto on the Stanislaus River. The Willms' Ranch near the town, was one of many filming locations for the television series ''Bonanza'' and ''Little House on the Prairie''. Knights Ferry is home to the Knights Ferry Bridge, the longest covered bridge west of the Mississippi River at in length.
