Operation Aloha (band)
''Operation Aloha'' is the first and only album released by a supergroup of 14 musicians of the same name. The album was conceived by photographer Christopher Wray-McCann who asked some of his musician friends if they wanted to live in a treehouse and record an album in Maui, Hawaii for 30 days. The group did not tour extensively, only appearing live on ''Last Call with Carson Daly'' and at The Troubadour to support the album. ''Last Call with Carson Daly'' is an American late-night television series that was broadcast by NBC from 2002 to 2019. The Troubadour, West Hollywood
The Troubadour is a nightclub located in West Hollywood, California, United States, at 9081 Santa Monica Boulevard just east of Doheny Drive and the border of Beverly Hills. "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda" is a song written by Scottish-born Australian singer-songwriter Eric Bogle in 1971. The song describes war as futile and gruesome, while criticising those who seek to glorify it. This is exemplified in the song by the account of a young Australian serviceman who is maimed during the Gallipoli Campaign of the First World War. The protagonist, who had travelled across rural Australia before the war, is emotionally devastated by the loss of his legs in battle. As the years pass he notes the death of other veterans, while the younger generation becomes apathetic to the veterans and their cause. James Burgon Valentine (born October 5, 1978) is an American musician who is the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the pop rock band Maroon 5.
