The Opening of the World Series is a trilogy of novels by Harry Turtledove set in a fantasy world. In the trilogy, the Raumsdalian Empire is the dominant political entity, which shares ties to a loose collection of barbarian tribes with a common ethnicity An ethnic group or an ethnicity is a grouping of people who identify with each other on the basis of shared attributes that distinguish them from other groups. Fantasy literature is literature set in an imaginary universe, often but not always without any locations, events, or people from the real world.
