Open Mind (Wonho Song)
"Open Mind" is the second solo single released by South Korean singer Wonho. It was released as the lead single and second single from his debut EP '' Love Synonym Pt.1: Right for Me'' on September 4, 2020. Background and release The song alongside Wonho's EP was announced on August 9, as the first solo project of Wonho following his departure from Monsta X in October 2019. On August 30, a twenty second video showing a preview of the choreography was released as a teaser. Wonho performed the song on his debut showcase on the same day as the song's release, hosted through V Live. Composition and lyrics It uses a foundation of Eighties-style warped bass and synth to tremendous effect, veering into the electronic music with the occasional distorted vocals and a 808 beat. Wonho's vocals on the song were described as hazy over the pre-chorus and that they lead to a groovy, funk-fuelled drop. Lee Ho-seok (, born March 1, 1993), known by his stage name Wonho (), is a South Korean singer under Highline Entertainment. He is a former member of the South Korean boy group Monsta X, formed through the Mnet's survival show ''No.Mercy'', under Starship Entertainment in 2015. He then made his solo debut, with his first EP '' Love Synonym Pt.1: Right for Me'', on September 4, 2020. The Circle Digital Chart, previously known as the Gaon Digital Chart, is the music industry standard record chart ranking the 200 most popular singles in South Korea. It provides rankings on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis, which is based on an aggregate of streaming, downloads and background music from major South Korean music platforms. It is a part of the Circle Chart, previously known as the Gaon Chart. In journalism and blogging, a listicle is an article that is structured as a list, which is often fleshed out with additional text relating to each item. A typical listicle will prominently feature a cardinal number in its title, with subsequent subheadings within the text itself reflecting this schema. The word is a portmanteau derived from ''list'' and ''article''. It has also been suggested that the word evokes " popsicle", emphasising the fun but "not too nutritious" nature of the listicle.
