''Ooh Rap I Ya'' is the third studio album by American electronic musician George Clanton, released on July 28, 2023, by his independent record label 100% Electronica. Background On October 7, 2021, Clanton released the single "Fucking Up My Life" ahead of his 2021 headlining tour, featuring his partner and 100% Electronica co-founder Negative Gemini. This was his first solo material released since 2018's ''Slide'', and he announced along with the single that he was working on his third studio album for release sometime the following year. Clanton had already been working on the album for the past two years, and chose to release the song before the tour as it "was written to go off live". George Clanton (also known by the monikers Mirror Kisses, ESPRIT 空想, and Kid's Garden) is an American electronic musician and singer-songwriter known for his involvement with the vaporwave music scene. He established his independent record label 100% Electronica in 2015, and in 2019 launched the first vaporwave music festival, 100% ElectroniCON. Howie Weinberg is an American audio mastering engineer with over 2,257 mastering credits, three TEC Awards, 21 Grammy Awards, two Juno Awards, and one Mercury Prize. Background and production During interviews for his 2018 album Slide, Clanton stated one of his biggest inspirations for the album was the band 311. His first live concert was a 311 concert in 2003, explaining that they "blew imaway" by playing some of his favourite deep cuts. Clanton finally met Hexum at a 311 concert during the summer of 2018, with Hexum first hearing of Clanton through 311's band assistant Evan Anderson. ''Giving the World Away'' is the second studio album by Australian dream pop musician Hatchie. It was released on 22 April 2022 through Secretly Canadian. Background and recording After the release of her 2019 debut album '' Keepsake'', Hatchie began working on a second album in February 2020 while in Los Angeles. Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, she was forced to return to Australia at the end of the month. She worked in retail while recording music with her partner Joe Agius at a house in Brisbane.
