Onslaught (DC Comics)
The Onslaught are a fictional team of state sponsored super powered Quraci terrorists published by DC Comics. They first appeared in ''Suicide Squad'' #1, and were created by John Ostrander and Luke McDonnell. History The Onslaught is a team of super-powered international terrorists-for-hire operating out of the outlaw nation of Qurac. The team was created and guided by Qurac's President Marlos and had accepted, as its first commission, the assignment of killing the President of the United States. Former Suicide Squad member Jess Bright, now a Soviet operative named Koshchei helped bio-engineer candidates for the team. Luke McDonnell
Luke McDonnell (born July 19, 1959) is an American artist whose early career was spent specialising in comic books. Career Comic books Luke McDonnell began his career as a comics artist in 1980 and illustrated a wide variety of comics including long runs on ''Iron Man'', ''The Phantom'' and'' Suicide Squad''. He made his Marvel Comics debut with the story "Eclipse of Reason" in ''Star Trek'' #12 (March 1981). In 1983, McDonnell and writer Dennis O'Neil began a storyline in which the character James Rhodes replaced Tony Stark in the role of Iron Man. McDonnell moved to DC Comics in 1985 and became the regular artist on ''Justice League of America'' with issue #245 (Dec. 1985). He drew the title through its final storyline (#258–261) which was written by J. M. DeMatteis. Karl Kesel (born January 7, 1959, Victor, New York) is an American comics writer and inker whose works have primarily been under contract for DC Comics. He is a member of Periscope Studio and is best known for his collaborations with fellow artist Tom Grummett on '' The Adventures of Superman'', ''Superboy'', and ''Section Zero''. Grant Miehm
Grant Miehm is a Canadian illustrator who has worked for a number of different American comics publishers. Career Miehm's work began appearing in the mid-1980s, in various titles produced by independent publishers, beginning with '' Elementals'' #15 (July 1987) from Comico: The Comic Company. Miehm cites various artists as influences but notes that: "I also think any creative person is influenced by everything around them --- so aside from artists whose work I admire, life itself imprints upon the psyche of the artist". Geof Isherwood
Geof Isherwood (born December 4, 1960) is an American painter, sculptor and comic book illustrator. Career Much of Isherwood's early work was done for Marvel Comics, including such titles as ''Silver Surfer'', ''Conan the Barbarian'', '' Daredevil'', and '' Doctor Strange''. Since then, he has been involved in movies as a storyboard artist and a concepts/production illustrator, working with the likes of Bryan Singer, Richard Donner and Darren Aronofsky. Kim Yale (November 22, 1953 – March 7, 1997) was an American writer and editor of comic books for several publishers including DC Comics, Eclipse Comics, First Comics, Marvel Comics, and WaRP Graphics. Biography Yale was born in Evanston, Illinois, to the Reverend Richard A. Yale and Theresa Yale. Her father was a Navy chaplain which meant that for many years she and her family moved to various locations in the United States and elsewhere before resettling in Evanston during her teen years. She earned a B.A. in English from Knox College. Yale's first published comics work appeared in 1987 in the ''New America'' limited series, a spin-off of Timothy Truman's ''Scout'' series published by Eclipse Comics. In DC Comics' DC Universe, a metahuman is a human with superpowers. The term is roughly synonymous with both ''mutant'' and ''mutate'' in the Marvel Universe and '' posthuman'' in the Wildstorm and Ultimate Marvel Universes. In DC Comics, the term is used loosely in most instances to refer to any human-like being with extranormal powers and abilities, either cosmic, mutant, science, mystic, skill or tech in nature.
