Onjali Q. Raúf
Onjali Qatara Raúf (born February 1981) is a best-selling British author and the founder of the NGO Making Herstory, a woman's rights organisation tackling the abuse and trafficking of women and girls in the UK. Background Raúf is of British Bangladeshi heritage. Her work is informed in part by her experiences of racism in childhood. "When I started being called Paki, I started to feel y difference I wondered: why is there no one who looks like me in the books? So I wanted to write those characters,” she said in a 2019 interview with ''The Guardian''. Raúf was raised in London. ''Wake Up to Wogan'' (''WUTW'') was the incarnation of ''The Radio 2 Breakfast Show'' that aired each weekday morning from 4 January 1993 to 18 December 2009. It was the most-listened-to radio show in the United Kingdom, and the flagship breakfast programme broadcast on BBC Radio 2. The show was presented by Terry Wogan, who had previously presented the breakfast show between 1972 and 1984, but the title ''WUTW'' was only added at the start of his second tenure.
