''One Step Higher'' is the fourth and last album by Voyage, recorded and released in the United States in December 1981 on Atlantic Records while the other version of this album was re-released again in France on Sirocco Records in 1982 and the rest of different versions on different record labels that same year from different countries. The song "Come And Get It" featured Arthur Simms on lead vocals. Voyage (band)
Voyage was a French disco and pop group, consisting of André "Slim" Pezin (guitar/vocals), Marc Chantereau (keyboards/vocals), Pierre-Alain Dahan (drums/vocals) and Sauveur Mallia ( bass), together with British lead vocalist Sylvia Mason-James, who sang on the group's first two albums, ''Voyage'' (1977) and '' Fly Away'' (1978). For their next two albums, Pierre-Alain Dahan became the lead vocalist on ''Voyage 3'' (1980) and on ''One Step Higher'' (1982), and the group's sound changed from disco to pop. Overview Before Voyage, Pezin, Chantereau, Dahan and Mallia worked together in a band called V.I.P. Connection in 1975 with two disco songs: "Please Love Me Again" and "West Coast Drive", songs known by fans and collectors of early disco music. Disco is a genre of dance music and a subculture that emerged in the 1970s from the United States' urban nightlife scene. Atlantic Recording Corporation (simply known as Atlantic Records) is an American record label founded in October 1947 by Ahmet Ertegun and Herb Abramson. Jimmy Thomas (January 20, 1939 – April 25, 2022) was an American soul singer and songwriter. He was best known as a vocalist for Ike Turner. Thomas joined Turner's Kings of Rhythm in 1958, and remained with the band when the Ike & Tina Turner Revue was formed in 1960. He released solo singles on Turner's labels Sue, Sputnik, and Sonja Records. After his departure from Turner, Thomas continued recording as a solo artist, eventually relocating to London. He formed his own label, Osceola Records, in 1979. Life and career Early life Thomas was born in Osceola, Arkansas on January 20, 1939.
