Turning Point (American Band)
Turning Point was an American straight edge hardcore punk band from New Jersey that existed from 1988 to 1991. Their early releases had the sound of youth crew, with lyrics relating to social issues or being straight edge. The later material was a lot more emo (music), emo-influenced, integrating more emotional lyrics, softer vocal delivery, and octave guitar chord, chords. This eventually led the way for other straight edge/hardcore bands to do so, such as Split Lip and Falling Forward. Lead singer Skip Candelori and guitarist Jay Laughlin previously formed Moorestown, New Jersey-based Pointless. Ken Flavell (drums) originally played drums with brother Chris Flavell in the early southern New Jersey hardcore band Failsafe. Mineral (band)
Mineral is an American emo band originally from Houston, Texas. Soon after their formation, they relocated to Austin, Texas, Austin. All four members of Mineral were signed to Interscope Records on individual contracts. After disbanding in 1998, its members worked on other musical projects, including The Gloria Record, Pop Unknown, and Zookeeper. In 2010, a compilation CD of all the band's songs (except for "Sadder Star") was released in Japan, entitled ''TheCompleteCollection''. Mineral announced a reunion tour on April 24, 2014. Bane (band)
Bane was an American hardcore punk band that began in 1995 as a side project between Aaron Dalbec (then of Converge) and Damon Bellorado. Dalbec approached Matt Firestone to sing and they played under the moniker of Gateway for a few shows, before Firestone parted ways to focus on other projects. Dalbec then approached Aaron Bedard (who had previously sung for the Worcester, Massachusetts hardcore band Backbone) about singing for Bane. They went into the studio in December 1995 with a few friends and released a five-song demo. The next year saw the release of their first EP, and many shows throughout central Massachusetts. In early 1997, Bane released ''Free to Think, Free to Be'' EP, and in 1998 the band released the '' Holding This Moment'' 7" and CD collection, and embarked upon their first US tour. Have Heart was an American straight edge hardcore punk band formed in New Bedford, Massachusetts in 2002. The band recorded a demo that was released in 2003. In 2004, they released the ''What Counts'' EP ( Think Fast! Records), with their debut full-length, '' The Things We Carry'' (Bridge Nine Records) arriving in 2006. Their last full-length, '' Songs to Scream at the Sun'' (Bridge Nine Records), garnered much critical acclaim from hardcore critics and fans alike, winning 'album of the year' from many hardcore-oriented websites. Inside Out was a hardcore punk band from Orange County, California. It was fronted by Zack de la Rocha, later of Rage Against the Machine. Biography Inside Out existed from August 1988 to roughly fall of 1991, releasing a single Extended play, 7" EP, ''No Spiritual Surrender'', in 1990, on Revelation Records (later converted to six song CD). They played up and down the West Coast of the United States, West Coast and even toured the East Coast of the United States, East Coast once before their breakup in 1991. Many of their songs' themes are spiritual, but not necessarily religious.
