One Step Closer is an American straight edge melodic hardcore band from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The band is currently signed to Run for Cover Records. The band was one of Stereogum's "Bands To Watch" The band's debut album, ''This Place You Know'', was released in 2021 to positive reviews. BrooklynVegan calls them "one of the most exciting new bands in hardcore". Musical style and influences Critics have categorised the band as melodic hardcore. ''One Step Closer'' is an album by renowned R&B/ Hip hop singer-songwriter/keyboardist/record producer Gavin Christopher. Released in 1986, this album contained Christopher's biggest solo hit, with the title track, "One Step Closer to You" reaching number 22 on the pop charts, number 25 on the R&B chart, and number 9 on the Dance chart. The follow-up single, "Back in Your Arms" could not duplicate this success, and the album fell off the charts. The album also includes Christopher's own version of "Once You Get Started," a tune he had originally written for Rufus and Chaka Khan that became a top-ten Pop, R&B, and Dance hit for the group in the 1970s. ''Azabache'' (Spanish: " jet (lignite)") is the third studio album by Spanish singer Marta Sánchez. This was released in 1997. On this album more producers were involved (Andres Levin, Nile Rodgers, Camus Celli, Robyn Smith and Stephen Budd) along with longtime musical partner Christian De Walden. They created a rock oriented album, instead of the pop music Marta recorded for her first and second albums. Critical reactions were mostly positive. ''One Step Closer'' is the official debut release by the Austrian blues-rock singer Luise Gruber, better known as Saint Lu, released mononymously under the name Luise. It was released by the Austrian independent label "Agentur Netzwerk" in 2004. The EP contains three tracks, two of which were written by Gruber herself. The third one is a cover version of the traditional gospel song "Amazing Grace". Although the name of the EP is "One Step Closer", it does not contain a song, named "One Step Closer". Gruber mentioned in an interview, that she called the EP this way because that is "one step closer" in her career as a musician. Heinz Carl Heinrich Winckler (born 22 March 1978) is a South African singer and the winner of the first series of South African '' Idols'' and is also an actor. Born the eldest of three children in Stellenbosch, South Africa, he went on to study law at Stellenbosch University. After winning the Idols competition in June 2002, he discontinued his studies to devote time to a music career.
