One Perfect Day (Little Heroes Song)
"One Perfect Day" is a song written and sung by Roger Hart-Wells and performed by the Australian band Little Heroes. It was released in March 1982 as the lead single from their second studio album, '' Play by Numbers'' (1982). The single entered the Australian Kent Music Report Singles Chart in April 1982 and peaked at No. 12. In June 1982, Hart-Well said, "If this single had not succeeded, we probably would have gone off the road and had a long look at ourselves." Background In February 2017 Roger Hart-Wells explained how "One Perfect Day" was written about Byron Shire comedian, Sandy Gandhi (1959–2017), and a friend, Carrie Hall. He told Javier Encalada of '' The Northern Star'', that he was watching the election of Margaret Thatcher in 1979 and thought of how Gandhi and Hall were in the United Kingdom. Little Heroes (band)
Little Heroes were an Australian band formed in 1980, by founding mainstay Roger Hart (aka Roger Wells or Roger Hart-Wells, ex-Secret Police) on lead vocals and guitar. They released three studio albums, '' Little Heroes'' (August 1981), '' Play by Numbers'' (August 1982) and '' Watch the World'' (September 1983). Their highest charting hit, " One Perfect Day", which was released in 1982, reached No. 12 on the Kent Music Report Singles Chart. Their other charting singles are " Young Hearts" (1982), "Watch the World" and " Bon Voyage" (both 1983). They disbanded in June 1984. History In 1980, Little Heroes were formed in Melbourne from the remnants of pub rockers, Secret Police. Sara Bettine Storer (born 6 October 1973) is an Australian country music singer-songwriter and former teacher. She won a record breaking seven Golden Guitar awards in the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January 2004, and as of 2017, she has won 21 in total. Weddings, Parties, Anything. was an Australian folk rock band formed in 1984 in Melbourne and continuing until 1999. Their name came from The Clash song "Revolution Rock". Musicologist Billy Pinnell described their first album as the best Australian rock debut since Skyhooks' ''Living in the 70's''. The band was led by Mick Thomas, the only continual member throughout the group's history. The single "Father's Day" was nominated for Single of the Year as well as winning Song of the Year at the 1993 ARIA awards. They were renowned for their energetic live performances and in particular their annual Christmas shows at the Central Club Hotel in Swan Street, Richmond held in the lead up to Christmas Eve every year from the late 1980s to 1998. St Ives is a suburb on the Upper North Shore of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia 18 kilometres north of the Sydney Central Business District in the local government area of Ku-ring-gai Council.
