BBC Two
BBC Two is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network owned and operated by the BBC. It covers a wide range of subject matter, with a remit "to broadcast programmes of depth and substance" in contrast to the more mainstream and popular BBC One. Charles Denton (born 20 December 1937) is a British film and television producer and executive. Early career He first worked for the BBC as a documentary filmmaker for five years from 1963, before he left the corporation to go freelance. Dominic Francis Moraes (19 July 1938 – 2 June 2004) was an Indian writer and poet who published nearly 30 books in English. He is widely seen as a foundational figure in Indian English literature. His poems are a meaningful and substantial contribution to Indian and World literature. Early life Dom Moraes was born in Bombay (now Mumbai) to Beryl and Frank Moraes, former editor of ''The Times of India'' and later ''The Indian Express''. René Cutforth (6 February 1909 - 1 April 1984) was a British journalist, television and radio broadcaster and writer. Early life Reynolds Cutforth was born at Swadlincote, Derbyshire on 6 February 1909, and spent his childhood in Woodville, Burton on Trent, Staffordshire. He received his formal educated at Denstone College, which he entered in September 1922. His first job was a clerk with the Midland Bank. Fred Burnley (1933–1975) was a British television and film director. Life Burnley was educated at The Queen's College, Oxford, where he gained a first-class degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He joined Ealing Studios as an assistant on '' The Ladykillers'' in 1955, but left after six months to edit TV commercials and documentaries. In 1965 he joined the BBC as director-producer. Kenneth Peacock Tynan (2 April 1927 – 26 July 1980) was an English theatre critic and writer. Making his initial impact as a critic at ''The Observer'', he praised Osborne's ''Look Back in Anger'' (1956), and encouraged the emerging wave of British theatrical talent. In 1963, Tynan was appointed as the new National Theatre Company's literary manager. An opponent of theatre censorship, Tynan is often believed to have been the first person to say " fuck" on British television, during a live broadcast in 1965. John Irvin
John Irvin (born 7 May 1940) is an English film director. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, he began his career by directing a number of documentaries and television works, including the BBC adaptation of John le Carré's ''Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy''. He made several Hollywood films in the 1980s, including '' The Dogs of War'' (1980), ''Ghost Story'' (1981) and ''Hamburger Hill'' (1987). Irvin is a graduate of London Film School. Gerald Anthony Scarfe (born 1 June 1936) is an English cartoonist and illustrator. He has worked as editorial cartoonist for ''The Sunday Times'' and illustrator for ''The New Yorker''.
