One Night Only (One Night Only Album)
''One Night Only'' is the second album by British alternative rock band One Night Only. It was released on 23 August 2010. The new songs were first performed at the SXSW festival in March 2010. The band played "Say You Don't Want It", "Forget My Name", "Chemistry", "Anything", "Got It All Wrong" and "All I Want". On their June 2010 tour, they played "Never Be The Same" and "Bring Me Back Down" in place of "Anything" and "Got It All Wrong". The first single from the album was " Say You Don't Want It", released on 16 August 2010, a week before the album. "Chemistry" was announced as the second single from the album. Filming for the music video took place in Spain in mid-August. "All I Want" was offered as a free download. One Night Only (band)
One Night Only are a British indie rock band from Helmsley, North Yorkshire, formed in 2003. History One Night Only were formed in summer 2003, consisting initially of Mark Hayton, Daniel "Pob" Parkin, Sam "Gunner" Ford and Kai Smith. The band did not have a vocalist until George Craig, a friend of Ford's brother, joined in a practice. He was asked to be the vocalist, but insisted on playing guitar as well. Smith then left the band. Contrary to some reports, they did not start out as a Beatles cover band — they initially played songs by bands such as Blink-182, New Found Glory and The Beatles, as well as some of their own material. The name, One Night Only, came about when they were asked to play a gig. They did not have a name at the time and so came up with ''One Night Only'', intending the title to, literally, last for only one night, but the name stuck. Indie Pop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. It originated from British post-punk in the late 1970s and subsequently generated a thriving fanzine, Independent record label, label, and club and gig circuit. New Wave Music
New wave is a loosely defined music genre that encompasses pop-oriented styles from the late 1970s and the 1980s. It was originally used as a catch-all for the various styles of music that emerged after punk rock, including punk itself. Mercury Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group. It had significant success as an independent operation in the 1940s and 1950s. Smash Records and Fontana Records were sub labels of Mercury. Edmund Wilbur Hudson "Ed" Buller (born 9 August 1962 in Reigate, Surrey) is an English record producer and former musician. He has primarily worked with English bands including Suede, Pulp, The Raincoats and The Courteeners. Biography Buller first became interested in music after his father, composer John Buller, took him to see Stravinsky's ballet, ''The Rite of Spring'', at the age of 6. As a teenager, he joined The Psychedelic Furs as a keyboard player and toured with them for several years. After leaving the band, he took up record production, moving his way up through London studios and eventually became the in-house engineer for Island Records. ''Started a Fire'' is the first album by the British rock band One Night Only. It was released on 11 February 2008. The album entered the UK Album Chart at number 10 and has had a certification of gold in the UK with sales over 100,000. Track listing Certifications Singles "You and Me" was released as the debut single on 29 October 2007. It reached number 46 on the UK Singles Chart. The B-side for the CD is "What's Your Melody". The vinyl formats have either "Nintendo" or "Go Go Go". South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and Convention (meeting), conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987 and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year. In 2017, the conference lasted for 10 days with the interactive track lasting for five days, music for seven days, and film for nine days. The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data.
