One Charles Center
One Charles Center is a historic office building located in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a 23-story aluminum and glass International Style skyscraper designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and constructed in 1962. It was the first modernistic office tower in Baltimore and part of the city's downtown urban renewal movement. The base consists of a concrete-faced podium topped by a paved plaza, with the "T"-shaped office tower atop. The tower includes metal trim and gray glass. The tower was previously the subject of a design competition. It was completed in 13 months at a cost of $10,350,000. Peter G. Angelos (born July 4, 1929) is an American trial lawyer and baseball executive from Baltimore, Maryland. Angelos is the majority owner of the Baltimore Orioles, a team in the American League of Major League Baseball. Charm City Circulator
The Charm City Circulator (CCC or Downtown Circulator) is a privately funded, public transit downtown circulator shuttle service giving riders connection to historic sites, parking, and businesses throughout downtown Baltimore for free. The newest transit system in Maryland was established in 2008, but did not begin inaugural service until January 11, 2010 because of funding issues.
