''Once In A Blue Moon'' is a series of graphic novels published by Oni Press, written by Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir Christina Weir is a writer of comic books and television. She writes with her husband, Nunzio DeFilippis, whom she met while they were both students at Vassar College. The two have written for two seasons on HBO's '' Arli$$'', and have sold story .... The first volume was published in 2004, and featured art by Jennifer Quick. The series is looking for a new artist and has thus yet to publish a second volume, but many volumes are planned. Oni Press is an American independent comic book and graphic novel publisher based in Portland, Oregon. In 2019, it became an imprint label following the company's merger with Lion Forge Comics. The merged company, Oni–Lion Forge Publishing Group (OLFPG), is owned by Polarity. Oni Press has remained the "predominant name used for publishing comics" by OLFPG. Overview The company name derives from ''oni'', the word for the ogre demons popular in Japanese folklore.
