Once Bitten (Great White Album)
''Once Bitten'' is the third studio album by American glam metal band Great White. It was released on June 17, 1987, by Capitol Records. The album became a commercial success, selling more than one million copies and being certified Platinum in April 1988. The anthem " Rock Me" became a hit single, charting in September 1987, and is one of Great White's best known songs. AllMusic explains in their review that it brought Great White a broader audience. " Save Your Love" also charted, becoming their most famous power ballad at the time, in February 1988. "Lady Red Light" and "All Over Now" would become fan favorites and be included among 15 tracks on their later retrospective, "Absolute Hits". It was the band's last album to feature bassist Lorne Black. Great White
Great White is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1977. The band peaked with several albums during the mid-to-late 1980s, including the platinum-selling records '' Once Bitten'' (1987) and '' ...Twice Shy'' (1989), and those albums' singles " Rock Me" and "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" received considerable airplay through radio and MTV. They charted two Top 40 hit singles on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, with "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and "The Angel Song." They continued to release new material into the 1990s. Great White broke up in 2001. The next few years, the band performed as Jack Russell's Great White, which also made headlines when, in 2003, their show pyrotechnics set a Rhode Island nightclub on fire, leading to the deaths of 100 people, including band member Ty Longley. Martin Popoff
Martin Popoff (born April 28, 1963) is a Canadian music journalist, critic and author. He is mainly known for writing about the genre of heavy metal music. The senior editor and co-founder of ''Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles'', he has additionally written over twenty books that both critically evaluate heavy metal and document its history. He has been called "heavy metal's most widely recognized journalist" by his publisher. Popoff lives in Toronto, Ontario. Eddie Ashworth
Eddie Ashworth (born in Inglewood, California) is a record producer, engineer, mixer, musician, university professor, entrepreneur and writer, best known for his work in the alternative rock and indie rock genres. His primary instrument is mandolin, and also plays guitar and assorted keyboards. Ashworth has also worked with artists in a wide variety of other genres including dub, folk, hard rock, hip hop, tropicano, punk, and classic rock. Early life As a child Eddie Ashworth became interested in music technology and would play with the analog consumer recording gear his father had around the house. "Gimme Some Lovin" is a song first recorded by the Spencer Davis Group. Released as a single in 1966, it reached the Top 10 of the record charts in several countries. Later, ''Rolling Stone'' included the song on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs. Other artists have also recorded versions of the song; group singer Steve Winwood later recorded it live with Traffic and a rendition by the Blues Brothers reached number 18 on the main US singles chart. Jerry Lynn Williams
Jerry Lynn Williams (1948–2005) was an American rock music singer and composer. He wrote such hits as " Forever Man", " See What Love Can Do", " Something's Happening", "Running on Faith" and " Pretending" for Eric Clapton. He contributed two songs, "Real Man" and " I Will Not Be Denied", to Bonnie Raitt's 1989 album '' Nick of Time''. He had previously written material for Raitt's 1986 album '' Nine Lives''. He also wrote songs for Robert Plant, B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmie Vaughan. As a performer, he released albums on Warner Bros. Jack Russell (born December 5, 1960) is an American rock vocalist. He is a founding member of the American hard rock band Great White. Biography Early days Russell was born in Montebello, California on 5 December 1960. He grew up with influences such as Robert Plant and Steven Tyler, and became a vocalist for many bands in high school and later on. He met Mark Kendall in a concert and began plans to form a band called Dante Fox. "Tom's Divorce" is the 11th episode of the second season of American comedy television series ''Parks and Recreation'', and the seventeenth overall episode of the series. It originally aired on NBC in the United States on December 3, 2009. In the episode, Tom gets a divorce and Leslie tries to cheer him up, unaware it was a green card marriage. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is a trade organization that represents the music recording industry in the United States. Glam Metal
Glam metal (also known as hair metal or pop metal) is a subgenre of heavy metal that features pop-influenced hooks and guitar riffs, upbeat rock anthems, and slow power ballads. It borrows heavily from the fashion and image of 1970s glam rock. Early glam metal evolved directly from the glam rock movement of the 1970s, as visual elements taken from acts such as T.
