"On the Way Down" is the debut single of American musician Ryan Cabrera, released from his 2004 studio album, ''Take It All Away''. Cabrera co-wrote the song with Curtis Frasca and Sabelle Breer and produced it with Goo Goo Dolls frontman John Rzeznik. Released on May 24, 2004, the song peaked at number 15 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 on October 5, 2004. The song won a 2006 ASCAP Pop Award for most performed song of the year. Music video The music video features Ashlee Simpson, Cabrera's then-girlfriend, playing his love interest. The music video for the single was filmed in Austin, Texas, at the University of Texas at Austin. The video reached number four on the ''TRL'' countdown. Ryan Cabrera
Ryan Frank Cabrera ( ) (born July 18, 1982) is an American musician. He began his career as a lead singer for the Dallas band Rubix Groove before pursuing his solo career. Following the 2001 release of independent album '' Elm St.'', he released his first major-label album, ''Take It All Away'', on August 17, 2004. Earlier in the year, Cabrera had become known for his up-tempo pop-rock single " On the Way Down". It was then followed by Cabrera's second single, "True"; and his third single "40 Kinds of Sadness". Early life Cabrera was born in Dallas, Texas to Francisco "Frank" Cabrera and Debbie Cabrera. His Father is Colombian and his Mother is American. Gregg Bissonette (born June 9, 1959) is an American jazz and rock drummer and vocalist. He is the brother of bassist Matt Bissonette, with whom he frequently collaborates. He has played on albums by dozens of recording artists, including David Lee Roth's first three solo albums. Career One of Bissonette's first recordings was on jazz trumpet legend Maynard Ferguson's ''Live from San Francisco'' in 1983. Brother Matt was also in the band and on the recording. He later appeared on Brandon Fields' ''The Other Side of the Story'' in 1985. It featured David Garfield on keyboards.
