On The Last Day
On the Last Day (OtLD) was a five piece post-hardcore band from Seattle, Washington (U.S. state), Washington. Biography Soon after forming in 2003 in Seattle, On the Last Day started touring the local club scene, with the likes of Boys Don't Bleed, Up Falls Down, Aiden, Atreyu (band), Atreyu, and Deftones. With the help of Wil Francis of Aiden, the band was set up with talent scouts from many labels. Victory Records (Aiden's label) signed the band in 2006. Prior to the release of the 2006 album ''Meaning in the Static'', On the Last Day released ''Wars Like Whispers'', an EP featuring Francis. ''Meaning in the Static'' has received mixed reviews from critics. On the Last Day's first North American tour was in the summer of 2006 (August 10 – September 12) with New Jersey's pop-punk band Crash Romeo. The tour lasted for 33 days with 22 venues. Wil Francis
William Roy "wiL" Francis (a.k.a. William Control) (born January 8, 1982) is an American rock musician, record producer, author, and artist. He came to prominence as the lead vocalist and principal songwriter of the horror punk band Aiden. Biography Francis joined the original lineup of Aiden in 2003 as their bassist and replaced Steve Clemens as lead vocalist later that year. He became the creative force behind Aiden and, for the 2015 final album and tours, was the only member of the original lineup still in the band. During Aiden's hiatus from 2012 to 2015, Francis' primary musical output was William Control, and he has returned to this project full-time. Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Deftones is an American alternative metal band formed in Sacramento, California in 1988. They were formed by Chino Moreno (vocals, guitar), Stephen Carpenter (guitar), Abe Cunningham (drums), and Dominic Garcia (bass). During their first five years, the band's lineup changed several times, but stabilized in 1993 when Cunningham rejoined after his departure in 1990; by this time, Chi Cheng was bassist.
