On The Jungle Floor
''On The Jungle Floor'' is R&B singer-songwriter Van Hunt's second album. It was released during the spring on April 4, 2006 and featured the singles "Character" and "Being A Girl". The album was produced by Bill Bottrell, who previously worked with Sheryl Crow, Shelby Lynne and Michael Jackson. ''On the Jungle Floor'' was a radical departure from his 2004 debut, as it is geared toward a hard rock sound. The album contains a cover of two songs – the first of which is "Mean Sleep" – a song that Hunt wrote with actress Cree Summer on her lone album ''Street Faërie''. Another song that is a cover is the song "No Sense of Crime" – a track that was originally recorded by the former members of The Stooges, Iggy Pop and James Williamson on their 1975 album ''Kill City''. Van Hunt
Van Hunt (born March 8, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. He released his debut album, ''Van Hunt'', in 2004, and a follow-up, ''On the Jungle Floor'', in 2006, both on Capitol Records. He won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for appearing on the tribute version of the Sly & the Family Stone song, "Family Affair", in 2007. He transitioned to Blue Note Records where his 2008 album, ''Popular'', was shelved and would not be released until 2017. He self-released the compilation album ''Use in Case of Emergency'' in 2009. Early life Hunt was born in Dayton, Ohio. His father, Van Hunt Sr., was a friend of Ohio Players drummer Jimmy "Diamond" Williams. Trina & Tamara are an American R&B duo from Gary, Indiana, who were active in the late 1990s. The group was composed of sisters Trina Powell (born April 18, 1974) and Tamara Powell. Rahsaan Patterson (born January 11, 1974) is an American singer and actor, best known for portraying "The Kid" on the 1980s television show ''Kids Incorporated.'' James Williamson (musician)
James Robert Williamson (born October 29, 1949) is an American guitarist, songwriter, record producer and electronics engineer. He was a member of the iconic proto-punk rock band The Stooges, notably on the influential album ''Raw Power'' and in the reformed Stooges from 2009 to 2016. Between his stints in music, Williamson worked in Silicon Valley developing computer chips. Most recently he has continued as a solo artist. Early years Williamson was born in Castroville, Texas in 1949. His father died while he was young and he moved to San Antonio, Texas around the age of five.
