On the Ground News Reports (OGNR, stylised OG.NR) is a citizen journalism news platform that collects, validates and distributes user-generated news in short form (250 words or less) from Jamaica and around the world. Citizen Reporters, along with professional editors provide regular reports from the ground. OG.NR allows anyone who registers to contribute images, videos and other observations on local and global news. OG.NR Editors filter for spam, fact check for authenticity and assign an authentication status to each news report (Confirmed, Corroborated, Unconfirmed). Once a report is published, other members can add context, and interact with the news by verifying, updating, commenting, or adding media such as pictures and video. OG.NR facilitates users being able to send and receive news reports through its Desktop Website, Mobile Site, Apps, Email and Browser extensions. Berkman Center For Internet & Society
The Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society is a research center at Harvard University that focuses on the study of cyberspace. Founded at Harvard Law School, the center traditionally focused on internet-related legal issues. On May 15, 2008, the center was elevated to an interfaculty initiative of Harvard University as a whole. It is named after the Berkman family. On July 5, 2016, the center added "Klein" to its name following a gift of $15 million from Michael R. Klein. Charles Nesson
Charles Rothwell Nesson (born February 11, 1939) is the William F. Weld Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and the founder of the Berkman Center for Internet & Society and of the Global Poker Strategic Thinking Society. He is author of ''Evidence'', with Murray and Green, and has participated in several cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, including the landmark case ''Daubert v. Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals''. In 1971, Nesson defended Daniel Ellsberg in the Pentagon Papers case. He was co-counsel for the plaintiffs in the case against W. R. Christopher Coke
Christopher Michael Coke, also known as Dudus (born 13 March 1969), is a convicted Jamaican drug lord and the leader of the Shower Posse, a violent drug gang started by his father Lester Coke in Jamaica, which exported "large quantities" of marijuana and cocaine into the United States. Due to their father's drug profits, Christopher and his siblings grew up amidst wealth and attended elite private schools. His sister and brother were killed in drug-related violence, in 1987 and 2004, respectively. Coke was gradually brought into his father's organization. After his father's death in 1992, Coke, at the age of 23, became leader of the gang and the ''de facto'' authority of the Tivoli Gardens community in West Kingston. Tivoli Gardens, Kingston
Tivoli Gardens is a neighbourhood in Kingston, Jamaica. Developed as a renewal project between 1963 and 1965, the neighbourhood continued to suffer from poverty. By the late twentieth century it had become a center of drug trafficking activity and social unrest. Repeated confrontations took place between law enforcement and gunmen in the neighborhood in 1997, 2001, 2005, 2008, and 2010. History Tivoli Gardens was developed in West Kingston, Jamaica, between 1963 and 1965 by demolishing and redeveloping the area of the Rastafarian settlement Back-O-Wall.
