''On a Mission'' is the debut studio album by British singer Katy B. The album was released on 1 April 2011, by Rinse and Columbia Records and in the United States on 13 September. Katy worked with producers and writers DJ Zinc, Benga, and Rinse FM founder Geeneus. Katy had been recording songs for the album since June 2007 and continued recording for three years until December 2010. The album was heavily influenced by the singer's life experiences and her journey into the music world. The album received positive reviews from music critics. Kathleen Anne Brien (born 8 May 1989), better known as Katy B, is an English singer and songwriter. She released her debut studio album, ''On a Mission (Katy B album), On a Mission'', in 2011, which spawned two top five hits, "Katy on a Mission" and "Lights On (Katy B song), Lights On". In 2014 she released her second studio album, ''Little Red (album), Little Red'', which produced her third top five hit, "Crying for No Reason". "Katy on a Mission" is a song performed by British recording artist Katy B. It was released by Rinse FM, Rinse accompanied by a A-side and B-side, B-side titled "Louder" as her debut single and lead single from her debut album, ''On a Mission (Katy B album), On a Mission'', on 22 August 2010. The Mercury Prize, formerly called the Mercury Music Prize, is an annual music prize awarded for the best album released in the United Kingdom by a British or Irish act. It was created by Jon Webster and Robert Chandler in association with the British Phonographic Industry and British Association of Record Dealers in 1992 as an alternative to the Brit Awards. DJ Zinc
Benjamin Pettit (born 12 March 1972), better known as DJ Zinc, is a British DJ and record producer. Zinc first became known for 1995's "Super Sharp Shooter", a hip hop/jungle fusion, notably one of the pioneering jump-up anthems of its time. He went on to produce drum and bass, breakbeat and more recently UK garage and house. Biography Zinc's career as a DJ and producer stretches the steady evolution of hardcore from its house roots through ragga and hip hop-styled hardstep and beyond. In 1991, he began his radio show with then partner DJ Swift on London's Impact FM. He continued to DJ with Swift onto Eruption FM and later solo on Rinse FM since it gained a license.
