On (band)
ON was a solo project of Ken Andrews, which he started after the breakup of his previous band, Failure (band), Failure. The music of ON was not unlike that of Failure in terms of Songwriter, songwriting, but the overall sound was more based on Electronic music, electronics, with less emphasis on guitars and the typical Hard rock, heavy rock sound. ON was signed to Epic Records in 1999, and the first single, "Soluble Words", was released late that year. It contains four versions of the song, including a remix by Martin Gore of Depeche Mode, and an exclusive track called "Your Sister Says John" (written by Andrews' friend Jordon Zadorozny of Blinker the Star). After several months, ON's album ''Shifting Skin'' was released in June 2000. Ken Andrews
Ken Andrews (born Kenneth Andrew Doty; June 18, 1967) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer. Andrews was born in Seattle, Washington, and attended film school in Los Angeles before his band Failure received a record deal from Slash Records. Career He is best known as co-founder, lead vocalist, guitarist, bassist and co-songwriter of the alternative rock band Failure. He has also played in Replicants, a cover band side project that also included members of Tool. After the breakup of Failure in 1997, he also recorded music under the moniker ON, and later assembled and fronted the band Year of the Rabbit. Year Of The Rabbit (band)
Year of the Rabbit is a rock band assembled and fronted by Ken Andrews, formerly of Failure (band), Failure and ON (music), ON. After the commercial disappointment of ON, Andrews and ON's touring drum kit, drummer Tim Dow (formerly of Shiner (band), Shiner and Season to Risk) first recruited Dow's friend Jeff Garber (lead guitar/background vocals, formerly of National Skyline and Castor (band), Castor). Solomon Snyder (bass/background vocals, formerly of Cupcakes and Dovetail Joint (band), Dovetail Joint) came on board shortly thereafter. Kevin Moore (born May 26, 1967) is an American keyboardist, composer, and founder of the Chroma Key music project. He is also a former member of the American progressive metal/rock band Dream Theater, co-founder of the progressive rock supergroup O.S.I., and a composer of film soundtracks. Throughout his career, he has become known for his emotional music and lyrics, nomadic lifestyle and use of spoken word samples. Moore started his music career in progressive metal band Dream Theater. Thomas Edward Walter (born October 30, 1970) is an American musician and songwriter, best known for his alternative rock band, Abandoned Pools, as well as being the former bassist and one of the founding members of Eels (band), Eels. Season to Risk are an American noise rock/alternative rock band hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, United States. History Season to Risk formed in late 1989 from the ashes of the Kansas City punk bands Nine Lives and Curious George. Although Season to Risk (or S2R as they are sometimes called) has had several line-up changes, two of its founding members have remained constant: Steve Tulipana (lead vocals, guitar) and Duane Trower (lead guitar, keyboards, and vocals). Blinker the Star is the recording and performance name of Jordon Zadorozny, a Canadian solo artist who has worked with various musicians to create eleven albums. Notable musicians who have appeared on Blinker the Star albums include Leland Sklar, Ken Andrews, and, one of Jordon's childhood heroes, Lindsey Buckingham.
