Omro Township, Minnesota
Omro Township is a township in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 184 at the 2000 census. Omro Township was organized in 1880, and named after Omro, Wisconsin, the native home of an early settler. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.3 square miles (94.0 km), of which 36.0 square miles (93.2 km) is land and 0.3 square mile (0.9 km) (0.94%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 184 people, 60 households, and 43 families residing in the township. The population density was 5.1 people per square mile (2.0/km). There were 66 housing units at an average density of 1.8/sq mi (0.7/km). The racial makeup of the township was 100.00% White. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.54% of the population. Omro, Wisconsin
Omro is a city in Winnebago County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,517 at the 2010 census. The city is located along the Fox River, approximately 10 miles west of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. History 1853 description OMRO, P. V., on section 17 and 18, in town of Bloomingdale, Winnebago county, at the junction of the Manitowoc and Menasha, (extended), and the Waupun and Liberty Prairie plank roads. It is pleasantly situated on the south side of the Neenah oxriver, 11 miles west from Oshkosh, and 75 miles northeast from Madison. It has a heavy body of timber on the north, with a rich soil of openings and prairie on the south, and has excellent facilities by water for obtaining pine logs from the immense pinery of Wolf river, a great quantity of which is here manufactured into lumber.
