Akin Omotoso
Akin Omotoso (born 1974) is a Nigerian film director, writer, and actor. He is best known for directing the 2022 film ''Rise''. Both his father Kole Omotoso and his sister Yewande Omotoso are also writers. Early life and education Omotoso was born in Nigeria where he grew up in Ile Ife, Osun State. His family emigrated to South Africa in 1992 after his father, Kole Omotoso, took an academic appointment with the University of the Western Cape. This prompted Akin Omotoso to study at the same university, obtaining a diploma in speech and drama. His mother died in 2003. Career Omotoso ventured into entertainment while at the university. His acting debut was in ''Sunjata'' by Mark Fleishman. This also earned him a Fleur du Cap Award for Most Promising Student in 1995. He used the money from acting in the play to direct his first short films, ''The Kiss of Milk'', ''The Nightwalkers,'' and ''The Caretaker''. Kole Omotoso
Bankole Ajibabi Omotoso (born 21 April 1943), also known as Kole Omotoso, is a Nigerian writer and intellectual best known for his works of fiction and in South Africa as the "Yebo Gogo man" in adverts for the telecommunications company Vodacom. His written work is known for its dedication and commitment to fusing a socio-political reappraisal of Africa and respect for human dignity into most of his works. Early life and education Kole Omotoso was born into a Yoruba family in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. He was raised by his mother and maternal grandparents after the death of his father. Though the lack of a father figure could crush a young Nigerian boy, the events of his early childhood contributed a great deal to his development as a man and also as a writer. Mike Omotosho
Mike Oluwafemi Omotosho (died 4 June 2022) was a Nigerian politician who served as Chairman of the Labour Party. He was Governor of Rotary International in some parts of Nigeria covering the whole of North West, North East, North Central, South West excluding Lagos and Ogun states from 2015 to 2016. Political career Omotosho was Chairman of the Labour Party of Nigeria from 2015 to 2016. He also contested the 2015 general elections in Kwara State where he came third in the polls. Rosaline Omotosho
Roseline or Rosaline Ajoke Omotosho, née Sonola-Soyinka (died 1999) was a Nigerian judge. From 12 April 1995 to 27 February 1996 she was Chief Judge of Lagos State. She was the first female Chief Judge in Nigeria, and indeed in West Africa. Life Rosaline Omotosho's maiden name was Sonola-Soyinka.
