Omega (formerly Sharonville) is an unincorporated community in eastern Jackson Township, Pike County, Ohio, United States. A post office called Omega opened in 1837 and closed in 1935. Jackson Township is one of the fourteen townships of Pike County, Ohio, United States. The 2020 census found 1,170 people in the township. Ohio State Route 335
State Route 335 (SR 335) is a north–south state highway in the southern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its southern terminus is at US 52 in Sciotoville, a neighborhood within the city of Portsmouth, and its northern terminus is at SR 220 in Waverly where it has a wrong-way concurrency with US 23 and SR 104 for . Route description Along the way, it intersects with SR 139 in Minford and SR 776 near Stockdale. It crosses SR 32 and SR 124 near Beaver. History SR 335 was commissioned in 1932, on it current route between Minford and Beaver. The highway was extended to Waverly in 1937. In 1939, the route was extended south to Portsmouth. In 2003, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) commenced construction on a $1.8 million project to realign SR 335 from Dixon Mill Road to Gampp Lane in Scioto County east of the CSX railroad line. Scioto River
The Scioto River ( ) is a river in central and southern Ohio more than in length. It rises in Hardin County just north of Roundhead, Ohio, flows through Columbus, Ohio, where it collects its largest tributary, the Olentangy River, and meets the Ohio River at Portsmouth. Early settlers and Native Americans used the river for shipping,"Scioto River – Ohio History Central" but it is now too small for modern commercial craft. The primary economic importance for the river now is for recreation and drinking water. It is the longest river that is entirely within Ohio.
