''Shadows Over Trieste'' (Italian: ''Ombre su Trieste'') is a 1952 Italian war drama film directed by Nerino Florio Bianchi and starring Giulio Donnini, Livio Lorenzon and Adriana Innocenti. Tullio Kezich (17 September 1928 in Trieste – 17 August 2009 in Rome) was an Italian screenwriter and playwright, best known as the film critic for ''Corriere della Sera'' and for his award-winning biography of Italian director Federico Fellini. Biography Kezich's experience as a film critic began in 1941 as an adolescent reader for the Italian magazines ''Cinema'' and ''Movies''. He started reviewing professionally for Radio Trieste in 1946. In the early 1950s, he became a film critic with the Venice Film Festival, a collaboration that would last for over 60 years, and with the cinema magazine ''Sipario'' for which he later became editorial director between 1971-1974. In 1982, he was a member of the jury at the 34th Berlin International Film Festival. Miss Italia is a beauty pageant awarding prizes every year to young, female contestants from Italy. Since the first edition of the contest in 1939 many of the contestants have gone on to notable careers in television and film. History The forerunner of Miss Italia was '' Miss Sorriso'' (Miss Smile) started in 1939 by Dino Villani, and sponsored by a brand of toothpaste. Giulio Donnini (born 17 February 1924) is an Italian film actor. Life and career Born in Milan, Donnini made his film debut in 1946, in Giacomo Gentilomo's ''Teheran''. He got his first mayor role two years later, playing the epileptic murderer Smerdjakov in Gentilomo's ''The Brothers Karamazov''.
