Omarr Smith
Omarr Ali Hasan Smith (born April 7, 1977) is a former American football defensive back who was most recently the head coach of the Baltimore Brigade of the Arena Football League (AFL). He played professionally for the San Jose SaberCats of the AFL, and played college football at San Jose State. In his career, Smith has played for the San Jose SaberCats twice, from 2000–2002 and 2004–2008. He also played one year (2003) for the Tampa Bay Storm. He has also coached defensive backs at Whittier College. Prior to re-joining the SaberCats, Smith served as defensive coordinator with the rival Arizona Rattlers for three years (winning two championships). Smith has won seven total Arenabowl championships as a player (4) and assistant coach (3); this ties the legendary Tim Marcum, who won seven as a head coach, for the most in AFL history. ArenaBowl XXVIII was the championship game of the 2015 Arena Football League season. It was played between the American Conference Champion 2015 Jacksonville Sharks season, Jacksonville Sharks and the National Conference Champion 2015 San Jose SaberCats season, San Jose SaberCats. The game was played at Stockton Arena in Stockton, California. This was the San Jose SaberCats fourth ArenaBowl championship and fifth overall ArenaBowl appearance. American Football
American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. Arena Football Hall Of Fame
The Arena Football Hall of Fame is the official Hall of Fame of the Arena Football League (AFL). The inaugural class was announced in 1998 and the Hall was not formally organized until 2011. Prior to 2011, there were four classes: 1998–2000 and then another in 2002. The Arena Football Hall of Fame is the highest honor for players, coaches, and contributors involved in the AFL. The voting process consists of fans and current Hall of Fame members voting on the finalists.
