Olympique Lyonnais (), commonly referred to as simply Lyon () or OL, is a men and women's French professional football club based in Lyon in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The men play in France's highest football division, Ligue 1. Founded in 1950, the club won its first Ligue 1 championship in 2002, starting a national record-setting streak of seven successive titles. Lyon has also won eight Trophées des Champions, five Coupes de France, and three Ligue 2 titles. Lyon has participated in the UEFA Champions League seventeen times, and during the 2009–10 season, reached the semi-finals of the competition for the first time after three previous quarter-final appearances. They once again reached this stage in the 2019–20 season. Parc Olympique Lyonnais
Parc Olympique Lyonnais, known for sponsorship reasons as Groupama Stadium, is a 59,186-seat stadium in Décines-Charpieu, in the Lyon Metropolis. The home of French football club Olympique Lyonnais, it replaced their previous stadium, Stade de Gerland, in January 2016. The stadium was a host of UEFA Euro 2016, and was also chosen to stage the 2017 Coupe de la Ligue Final and the 2018 UEFA Europa League Final, in addition to the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup and football at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Jean Djorkaeff
Jean Djorkaeff (born 27 October 1939) is a French former professional footballer and manager. As a player, he operated as a defender. Early life Djorkaeff was born in the French commune of Charvieu, located in the ''département'' of Isère. He was born to a Kalmyk father and Polish mother. Club career Djorkaeff made his debut as a professional footballer playing for Lyon in a match against Limoges on 28 December 1958. Though he started out as a striker, he was famous for his work as central defender and appeared in around 400 matches in the French football league. He spent a total of 16 seasons within the first two tiers, during which he played with only four clubs (eight seasons with Lyon, four with Marseille, two with Paris Saint-Germain, and two with Paris FC). Bernard Lacombe
Bernard Lacombe (born 15 August 1952) is a French former professional footballer. He played as a striker, mainly with Lyon, Bordeaux and Saint-Étienne and the France national team. Career Lacombe began his professional career with hometown club Lyon in 1969. One of his teammates, Aimé Jacquet, would be later his team manager (and the manager of the France national team which won the 1998 FIFA World Cup). Lacombe earned his first cap for France in 1973. He went on to represent his nation at the 1978 World Cup, scoring after only 30 seconds against Italy, the fastest goal ever for a French player, and also the first goal of that tournament. Lacombe also played at the 1982 World Cup and won UEFA Euro 1984. After a brief stay with Saint-Étienne, Lacombe joined Bordeaux, where he was re-united with Aimé Jacquet. Néstor Combin (born 29 December 1939) is a former professional footballer who played as a striker. Born in Argentina, he spent most of his professional career in France, most notably with Lyon, and represented the France national team at international level. He was dubbed "La Foudre" (The Lightning) in France, for his speed, and "Il Selvaggio" (the Savage) in Italy, for his fighting spirit. Club career Combin was born in Las Rosas, Argentina. Fleury Di Nallo (born 20 April 1943) is a French former footballer, one of the best strikers in Division 1 in the 1960s and 1970s, and a historic player of Olympique Lyonnais. Nicknamed 'Le petit prince de Gerland' (The little Prince of Gerland) by the Lyon fans, Di Nallo played 489 games and scored 222 goals for Lyon. In total, he scored 187 goals in the French League, 182 with Lyon. In his first full season with Lyon, he scored 21 goals in 23 league games, including three hat-tricks and four goals in six Coupe de France matches. Cercle Athlétique de Paris Charenton is a French football club which plays in the cities of Charenton-le-Pont and Maisons-Alfort, Val-de-Marne. The team is a merge between CA Paris (founded in 1892) and SO Charentonnais (founded in 1904). The two merged in 1964.
