Olympic Games (film)
''Olympic Games'' is a 1927 American short silent comedy film directed by Anthony Mack. Plot The Gang competes in their version of the Olympics. As the boys try their hand at shot put, pole vault, and hurdles, Wheezer arrives and begins to teach Minnie how to do a Razzberry. They secretly razzle the Gang, and the gang keeps beating up an outsider who they accuse of the razzles. Farina tries the shot put, then later exhibits an exceptional pole vault. Joe has troubles with the pull up bar and a javelin. Peggy and Jean arrive to cheer on their hero, Joe. A rival gang appears and begins to pelt the kids with eggs and tomatoes. The Gang returns fire and hilarity results. They eventually catch Wheezer and Minnie razzing them; and they confront Wheezer. Wheezer sics Minnie on the Gang as they run away, Minnie on their heels. Peggy Lenore Ahearn Blaylock, known professionally as Peggy Ahern, (March 9, 1917 – October 24, 2012) was an American actress best known for her appearance in eight of the ''Our Gang'' series of films released between 1924 and 1927. The ''Our Gang'' series, which was also known as ''The Little Rascals'' or ''Hal Roach's Rascals'', was a series of comedic, short silent films created by director and producer Hal Roach. Ahern was one of the last surviving cast members from a Hal Roach film. Early life Ahern was born in Douglas, Arizona. She moved to Culver City, California, with her family in 1921. Career She began her film career as a child actor in the 1923 Hal Roach film, ''The Call of the Wild'', which was released by Universal Studios. Robert R. Parrish (January 4, 1916December 4, 1995) was an American film director, screenwriter, editor and former child actor. He received an Academy Award for Best Film Editing for his contribution to ''Body and Soul (1947 film), Body and Soul'' (1947). Life and career Born in Columbus, Georgia, Parrish was the son of Coca-Cola salesman Gordon R. Parrish and actress Laura R. Parrish. The Parrish siblings, including Beverly and Helen Parrish, Helen, entered into acting in the 1920s when the family moved to Los Angeles. Elmer "Scooter" Lowry
Elmer Camden Lowry (December 19, 1919 – 1 May 1989) was an American child actor and vaudevillian. He appeared in several ''Our Gang'' short films as Skooter. His character, Washington-born Skooter, was fond of Charles G. Dawes, known for his freckles, hat, and personality. He was dubbed "the original tough guy", due to his mean, harsh "bad boy" persona in the ''Our Gang'' films, at times referred as villainous. Known for his talented dancing, singing, and impersonations, Lowry was most well known for that during his vaudeville days. Early life Lowry was born in the borough of Brooklyn, New York City on December 19, 1919, to Willard S. and Anna L. Lowry. At the age of five, he started in vaudeville.
