Olympiacos Men's Waterpolo ( el, Ολυμπιακός, ), commonly referred to as Olympiacos, Olympiacos Piraeus or with its full name as Olympiacos CFP, is the men's water polo department of the major Greek multi-sport club, Olympiacos CFP, based in Piraeus, Greece. The department was founded in 1925, one of the founding members of the Hellenic Swimming Federation, and their home ground is the Papastrateio Pool in Piraeus. Olympiacos Women's Water Polo Club is the women's water polo department of the major Greek multi-sport club Olympiacos, based in Piraeus. The department was founded in 1988 and they play their games at the 1000-seated Papastrateio "Petros Kapagerof" Pool in Piraeus. Olympiacos is one of the most successful clubs in European water polo, having won 3 LEN Euro Leagues in 2015, 2021 and 2022, 3 LEN Super Cups in 2015, 2021, 2022 and 1 LEN Trophy in 2014 and having, overall, a commanding presence in European competitions. The department was founded in 1930 and their home ground is the Melina Mercouri Indoor Hall in Agios Ioannis Rentis, Piraeus. The Hymn of Olympiacos or Thrile ton Gipedon (''Legend of stadiums'') is the anthem of the Greek multi-sport club Olympiacos CFP, based in Piraeus. The lyrics were written in 1980 by the Greek songwriter Kostas Kilimantzos, with Spiros Valsamakis being the composer. Christakis Voliotis was the first to perform the anthem. The European Multisport Club Association (EMCA) is a sports organization representing the interests of multisport clubs in Europe. It was created with an initiative of the multisport club S.S. Lazio. EMCA is also a partner of the House of Sport and member of the European Platform for Sport Innovation. Balkans Cup
The Balkans Cup was an international football competition for clubs from Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Turkey, and Yugoslavia. It was introduced in 1961 and was very popular in the 1960s (the 1967 final attracted 42,000 spectators), being the second most important international club competition for clubs from the region (after the European Champions' Cup in which the champions could play; the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup originally attracted few teams from the region as many did not organise domestic cups regularly and only Yugoslavia had significant representation in the Fairs Cup). The competition has been dominated by Bulgaria-based teams. The Bulgarian teams have won together a total number of 9 titles. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996.
