Per-Olov Löwdin
Per-Olov Löwdin (October 28, 1916 – October 6, 2000) was a Swedish physicist, professor at the University of Uppsala from 1960 to 1983, and in parallel at the University of Florida until 1993. A former graduate student under Ivar Waller, Löwdin formulated in 1950 the symmetric orthogonalization scheme for atomic orbitals, atomic and molecular orbital calculations, greatly simplifying the tight-binding method. This scheme is the basis of the zero-differential overlap (ZDO) approximation used in semiempirical theories. In 1956 he introduced the canonical orthogonalization scheme, which is optimal for eliminating approximate linear dependencies of a basis set. These orthogonalization procedures are widely used today in all modern quantum chemistry calculations. He is also credited with the use of fat symbols for matrix (mathematics), matrices, making easy the derivation of several theorems of quantum mechanics. Per Olov Enquist
Per Olov Enquist, also known as P. O. Enquist, (23 September 1934 – 25 April 2020) was a Swedish author. He had worked as a journalist, playwright and novelist. Biography Enquist was born and raised in , a village in present-day Skellefteå Municipality, Västerbotten. He was the only son of a single mother, who became a widow when he was half a year old. In his youth, he was a promising athlete with a high jump personal best of 1.97 meters. He studied at Uppsala University, receiving a degree in the history of literature. During his time in Uppsala he started writing, his first novel ''Kristallögat'' being published in 1961, and became a newspaper journalist. Enquist won the Nordic Council's Literature Prize in 1968 for '' Legionärerna'', his account of Sweden's deportation of Baltic-country soldiers at the end of the second world war which also became his international breakthrough. Sven Olov Lindholm
Sven Olov Knutsson Lindholm (8 February 1903 – 26 April 1998) was a Swedish Nazi leader, active in far right politics from the 1920s to the 1950s. This included leading the Nazi party named Svensk socialistisk samling (SSS; literally "Swedish Socialist Union"); despite its name, this party was widely regarded as propagating a fascist/Nazi ideology. In later years, during the 1970s and 1980s, he renounced his former belief and anti-semitism, and stated he believed the Holocaust perpetrated by Nazi Germany had happened and that it was a crime. He quit the Nazi movement, and became a supporter of the political left and the peace movement. Olov Lambatunga was Archbishop of Uppsala from 1198 to 1206. Biography Little is known about Archbishop Olov. He was archbishop during the Papacy of Pope Innocent III (1198–1216). A couple of papal letters exist: In 1200, Pope Innocent III declared that Roman Catholic Church estates were free from government taxes and that clerics should not be subjected to the courts and judges of the government, but by bishops and prelates, as a step to separate the worldly and spiritual matters. In the second letter, the Pope demands Olov dismiss two bishops that Olov's predecessor Archbishop Petrus had appointed because they lacked proper heredity. Per-Olov Kindgren (born June 10, 1956, in Bogotá, Colombia) is a Swedish classical guitarist, composer and music teacher known for his classical guitar playing, ranging from Bach to The Beatles. Biography Early life Kindgren was born in Bogotá, Colombia, to a Swedish father and a Danish mother.
