Andrew Olivieri
Andrew Olivieri (born March 27, 1981) is a Canadian professional football manager and former soccer player who is currently the head coach of the Canadian men's under-20 team. He played as a goalkeeper for several clubs in the United States and Canada, namely Vermont Voltage, Montreal Impact, Laval Dynamites and Trois-Rivieres Attack. Early life Olivieri began playing amateur soccer with his home town of Montreal-Nord from 1987 to 1995. At which point he took his talent to Jean-Talon Rosemont in the Ligue de Soccer Elite Quebec, where he played from 1995 to 1999. During that period, he was a member of the Quebec teams. During his time with Jean-Talon Rosemont he was named into the LSEQ all-star team from 1996 to 1999 and was named the goalkeeper of the year in 1996 and 1998. Nancy Fern Olivieri (born 1954) is a prominent Toronto haematologist and researcher with an interest in the treatment of haemoglobinopathies. She is best known for a protracted struggle with the Hospital for Sick Children and the pharmaceutical company Apotex about the drug deferiprone. Early life Olivieri was born to the Hamilton, Ontario, Doctor Fernando Olivieri and Victoria Olivieri. Her paternal grandfather had immigrated to Hamilton from Italy in 1909. Olivieri received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and an MD from McMaster University in 1978. She has also pursued training in Internal Medicine and Hematology at McMaster, University of Toronto, and Harvard University. Harry Olivieri
Harry M. Olivieri (May 25, 1916 – July 22, 2006) was an American restaurateur of Italian descent. He is credited, along with his brother, Pat Olivieri, as the co-creator of the cheesesteak in 1933. The brothers opened Pat's King of Steaks in 1940, one of the best known purveyors of steak sandwiches in Philadelphia. Early life Olivieri was born in South Philadelphia to Italian parents Michael and Maria Olivieri. The family returned to Italy when he was three, returning to Philadelphia four years later. He attended Southwark School before leaving to work as a carpenter. Olivieri married his wife, Anna DeLuca, in 1936. Pat Olivieri (died 1970) was an American restaurateur. He is credited, along with his brother, Harry Olivieri, as the 1930 co-creator of the cheesesteak. The brothers opened Pat's King of Steaks in 1930, one of the best known purveyors of steak sandwiches in Philadelphia. Olivieri died in 1970. His son Herbert Olivieri disputed ownership of the business with Harry Olivieri and his children. Harry's grandson Frank Jr. now runs the business. Chiara Olivieri (born 9 September 1979 in Negrar) is an Italian curler from Cortina d'Ampezzo. She presently is the alternate for the team skipped by Diana Gaspari. Career Olivieri has represented Italy at 4 European Curling Championships and two World Curling Championships. Her first event as a member of the Italian women's team was the 2001 European Curling Championships, when she played lead. The team finished 11th at the event. Dennis Joel (born Dennis Joel Olivieri, August 29, 1947 - September 27, 2006) was an American child actor and singer. Early years The son of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Olivieri of Garfield, New Jersey, Joel attended Our Lady of Mount Virgin School before he moved to California with his mother and older brother. Beginning at age 5, he worked as a model for the Walter Thornton Agency. He began performing when at age 8 he sang a radio jingle for the local Yoo-hoo beverage company owned by his father. Renato Olivieri (4 August 1925 – 8 February 2013) was an Italian novelist and journalist. Born in 1925 in Sanguinetto, Verona, Olivieri spent his childhood in Turin and at 14 he moved to Milan, where he lived until his death in 2013. A professional journalist, he directed several magazines for the editor Mondadori.
